- The General Body Meeting of the Detroit Mar Thoma Church will be held today Sunday, August 18th, 2024 in the sanctuary after the Holy Communion Service presided by the President and Vicar, Rev. Santhosh Varughese. All General Body members are requested to attend this meeting.The agenda is as follows:

Prayer Fellowship
- Prayer Group #6 will have a prayer meeting today, August 18th at 5:30 pm at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Babu & Daisy Mathew in Macomb, MI (15652 Houghton Street Macomb, MI 48044). All prayer group members are requested to join
- Prayer Group #2 will have a prayer meeting on Saturday August 24th at 6:00 pm at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Boben & Shalan George in Novi, MI (24439 Perceval Ln. Novi, MI 48375). All prayer group members are requested to join.
- Prayer Group #4 will have a prayer meeting hosted by Mr. Mathew George and Family and Mr. Reji Alexander and family. Date & time will be announced soon.
Sunday School
- Sunday School Anniversary is scheduled for Saturday August 31st at 5:00 pm. Sunday school students who would like to participate in any performances are requested to inform their Sunday School teachers or SS Anniversary Convenor Mr. K.K. George as soon as possible
Sevika Sanghom
- Suvishesha Sevika Sanghom Mid-West Region is hosting a one day retreat on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm at Detroit Mar Thoma Church. Theme: Women – Witnesses of the Gospel – St. Luke 8: 1-3 and Rev. Jaisen A. Thomas, Vicar of St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church, Lombard, Chicago will be the main speaker. Please uphold this retreat in your prayers and encouraging all Sevika Sanghom members to attend.
First Fruit Auction
- We will be celebrating the harvest season with our annual First Fruit Auction on Sunday September 1st immediately after the worship service. The auction features a diverse selection of exceptional items, ranging from exclusive artworks including limited edition paintings, unique creations and handcrafted items from our talented parish members. Gourmet treats and nostalgic dishes prepared by our culinary experts including Kappa with ellu curry, kappa with fish curry, beef fry, prawns roast, Thalassery beef biryani pothichoru, , chilli chicken, cutlets, and a variety of freshly made Indian snacks, cookies, cakes and desserts.
The auction will also offer homegrown organic vegetables, farm-fresh products, and exotic plants and unique items that are sure to intrigue and delight.
The coordinators are requesting parish members to contribute more items for the auction as well. Items may include or similar to what has been mentioned above. Please avoid any clothing items.
The funds raised from the auction will primarily support the ongoing and operating expenses of the church and a portion of the funds are allocated for charity causes both locally and in India. All members are requested to wholeheartedly participate in the auction prayerfully and generously. For more information please contact the coordinators Mrs. Annie Varghese and Mrs. Sheena Mathews
Cultural Festival – St. John’s MTC (Invitation)
- St. John’s Mar Thoma Church is inviting our parish to their annual Cultural Fest held on Saturday August 24th beginning at 1:00 PM at St. John’s MTC with Food Stall and Carnival Games. The Cultural Programs will begin at 5:30 PM. Inviting all families to join us for delicious food, games, and an entertaining cultural program.
Yuvajana Sakhyam
- The 22nd Diocesan Yuvajana Sakhyam Conference will be hosted by The Mar Thoma Church of Dallas Farmers Branch Yuvajana Sakhyam. The conference will take place from September 26th to 29th, 2024, at The Mar Thoma Church of Dallas Farmers Branch. More information about the conference, including registration details, can be found on the conference website: https://www.ysconf2024.org. Encouraging all Sakha members and senior yuvajana sakhyam friends to register for the conference at the earliest. Registration deadline is August 31, 2024. Request everyone to uphold the conference in your prayers for its success and spiritual enrichment.

Refreshments
- Thanks to the refreshment committee for arranging today’s refreshments.
- As per our General Body decision the minimum expected contribution from each parish family is increased to \$100. All families are requested to contribute this amount and also encouraged to give more considering the increased cost of items. Thank you for your cooperation.
