Condolences


  • Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the very sad demise of Mrs. Manju Libu Alexander (43), sister of our member Mrs. Lekha George on Sunday February 25th in Kerala.  Funeral service was held on Wednesday. May our Almighty Lord grant the family strength and comfort them with His peace.

General Body Notice


  • The General Body Meeting of the Detroit Mar Thoma Church will be held on Sunday, March 17th, 2024 in the sanctuary after the Holy Communion Service presided by the President and Vicar, Rev. Santhosh Varughese.The agenda is as follows:
    1. Presentation and Adoption of the Annual Report for 2023
    2. Presentation and Adoption of the ratified over-budgeted and non-budgeted items for 2023
    3. Presentation and Adoption of the Audited Accounts for 2023
    4. Presentation and Adoption of the Budget for 2024
    5. AOB with prior permission from the Chair

    All General Body members are requested to attend this meeting. Annual Report Books will be sent via e-mail to parish members this week. Limited copies of annual report books will be available next Sunday, March 10th, especially for our senior members.

    NOTE: Questions or clarifications pertaining to the Annual Report, the Statement of Accounts for 2023 and the 2024 Budget should be sent via email or post in the attention of the Vicar/President and/or the Secretary and received on or before 4 pm (EST) on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. Each member is allowed to submit a maximum of 3 questions. Parish members should be present in the General Body meeting to raise the submitted questions.

Great Lent “Sandhya Namaskaram”


  • The Great Lent “Sandhya Namaskaram” evening prayers will continue this on weekdays, Monday through Friday, starting at 7 pm. We are blessed and thankful with the level of participation in this past week and we request everyone’s continued prayers and presence. Please note there will be no Fasting Prayer during the lent season.

Sunday School


  • First Communicants class will be held on Sunday, March 10th, after the worship Service. All First Communicants are required to attend.
  • There will be a Sunday School Teachers meeting on Sunday, March 10th at 5 pm via Zoom. All SS teachers are requested to attend

Sevika Sanghom


  • Sevika Sanghom monthly meeting will be held on Saturday March 9th at 11am at church. All women over 18 are encouraged to join this time of fellowship.
  • This year’s World Day of Prayer will be held on Sunday, March 10th, at 9:30 am. This worship service will be led by our SS members. We invite all church members to participate in this special service. The worship order for this year was prepared by an ecumenical group of Palestinian Christian women and focuses on the theme ‘I beg you… bear with one another in love’, based on Ephesians 4:1-7. The offertory collected will be distributed to communities in need in Palestine as well as women and children in need around the world. Offertory envelopes will be distributed today. Please make your donation through Zeffy or by check to DMTC and in the memo, please note ‘Sevika Sanghom’ or ‘Women’s Ministry’. Your wholehearted support and prayers are requested.

Yuvajana Sakhyam


  • YS Monthly meeting will be held on March 10th at 6:00 pm via Zoom. All YS members are requested to attend.
  • The 22nd Diocesan Yuvajana Sakhyam National Conference will be held from Thursday, September 26th to Sunday, September 29th hosted by and held at the Mar Thoma Church of Dallas Farmers Branch. The conference theme is MOULD: Fashioning Faith Full Future.
    • As part of the preparations the conference committee is looking for a creative conference logo. For this there will be a conference logo design contest and the committee is welcoming YS members from all churches to participate. The contest is open until March 20th, 2024. All entries must be submitted electronically to the National Conference Committee at ysconf2024logo@mtcfb.org. Encouraging participation from all YS members

Diocesan Sunday Collection


  • As we are observing today as Diocesan Sunday a reminder our expected contribution this year for Diocesan Sunday is $3,160. We are requesting each family to contribute to meet our goal. Please note that there are other yearly contributions our Parish has to make to the Diocese. On an average, each parish family is requested to contribute $110 to fully cover the Diocesan dues every year. Thank you to all our members for their support towards our Diocesan activities.

We will do our very best to live stream all church events, however as this is dependent on trained volunteers, there may be technical interruptions and occasions where live streaming is not available. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
