Condolences

  • Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the sad demise of Mrs. Chinnamma Samuel (86), mother of our member Mr. Johnson Samuel on Wednesday January 31st in Chennithala, Kerala.  Funeral service was held yesterday in Kerala.
  • Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the sad demise of Mr. George Thomas, brother of our member Mr. Thomas Abraham on Friday February 2nd in Kerala.  Funeral service will be held on Monday, February 5th

Great Lent “Sandhya Namaskaram”

  • The Great Lent “Sandhya Namaskaram” evening prayers will start at on Monday, February 12th at 7 pm via Zoom and will be held on weekdays, Monday through Friday. Theme for the Lenten season is “Transformation through Repentance and Confession”. Those who are interested in delivering a devotional message during the Sandhya Namaskaram evening prayers are requested to contact Achen or respective prayer group leaders.  In this lenten season let us continue to prepare ourselves and meditate on God’s Word.

Edavaka Mission

  • Edavaka Mission General Body Meeting will be held today Sunday February 4th after the worship service. All members are requested to attend.
  • Mar Thoma Voluntary Evangelists Association of the Diocese of NA will have a prayer meeting tomorrow Monday, February 5th, at 8:30 pm via Zoom. Devotion message will be given by Rev. Roji M. Abraham, Vicar of Canadian MTC. All members are encouraged to attend.

College/University Students in the Diocese of North America

  • Greetings from the Sinai Mar Thoma Center, New York.

    We are interested in extending ministry to our college/university students and youths. As many of these students and youths are away from their homes due to their studies and/or employment, we would like to know their whereabouts and obtain their contact information. You can assist in collecting the pertinent information via Google Form: https://forms.gle/eYPZZ3BYWSwRM4eJ6, which will help us efficiently compile the information.

    Requesting parents, students, and youths to complete the required information. You can assure the information gathered will not be used for any other purpose without their approval other than to contact them. The purpose of this effort is to reach out and build companionship with all our youths and students. They have a lot to offer for the edification and strengthening of our ministry and thereby reveal God’s glory to the world.

    I want you to treat this as a solemn responsibility to bring all our dear youths and students into our fellowship. Please make a special effort to submit the form to the Diocesan Office on or before February 29, 2024.

Yuvajana Sakhyam

  • Yuvajana Sakhyam General Body will be held on Saturday, February 10th at 6 pm at the church. 2023 Annual Report and Accounts will be represented. All YS members are requested to attend

Refreshments

  • Thanks to the refreshment committee for arranging today’s refreshments.
  • A reminder all parish members are requested to contribute their refreshment amount. $75 is the minimum however a higher contribution is encouraged due to the increased cost of items. Also, all parish families are requested to consider sponsoring refreshments on any Sunday, multiple families may sponsor refreshments together to ease the cost. This will tremendously help our refreshment committee in continuing to provide this invaluable service. Thank you to all for your consideration and support.

We will do our very best to live stream all church events, however as this is dependent on trained volunteers, there may be technical interruptions and occasions where live streaming is not available. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
