Condolences

  • Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the sad demise of Mr. John Joseph (82), father-in-law of our member Mr. Ashish Thomas on Sunday, January 21st.  Funeral service was held this past Friday in Texas. May our Almighty Lord grant the family strength and comfort them with His peace.

Great Lent “Sandhya Namaskaram”

  • The Great Lent “Sandhya Namaskaram” evening prayers will start at on Monday, February 12th at 7 pm via Zoom and will be held on weekdays, Monday through Friday. Theme for the Lenten season is “Transformation through Repentance and Confession”. Those who are interested in delivering a devotional message during the Sandhya Namaskaram evening prayers are requested to contact Achen or respective prayer group leaders. In this lenten season let us continue to prepare ourselves and meditate on God’s Word

Choir

  • Annual general body meeting of the DMTC choir will be held today, Sunday, January 28th after the service.  Both English and Malayalam choir members are kindly requested to attend the meeting.

Sunday School

  • First Communicants class will be held today, Sunday, January 28th, at 7 pm via Zoom. All First Communicants are required to attend.
  • A survey has been sent to all the Sunday School parents for expressing their thoughts on improving Sunday School Participation.  If any SS parents have not received the survey by email or WhatsApp, please contact your Sunday School Teacher or the SS Superintendent and complete the survey by January 31st, 2024.

Sevika Sanghom

  • Monthly meeting of the Sevika Sanghom will be held on Saturday, February 3rd at 11 am at the church. Meeting will be followed by General Body with the following agenda:
    1. 2023 Annual Report
    2. 2023 Accounts
    3. 2024 Budget

    All Sevika Sanghom members are requested to attend

  • Diocesan Sevika Sanghom is conducting a welcome meeting for our Diocesan bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Mar Paulos Episcopa on Thursday February 1st, at 7:30 PM (EST) via Zoom platform. A devotional message will be delivered by Sevika Sanghom general secretary Mrs. Rachel George (Kochamma). Edavaka Mission

  • Edavaka Mission General Body Meeting will be held on Sunday February 4th after the worship service. All members are requested to attend.

Yuvajana Sakhyam

  • Yuvajana Sakhyam General Body will be held on Saturday, February 10th at 6 pm at the church. 2023 Annual Report and Accounts will be represented. All YS members are requested to attend

Note from Trustees

  • Those parish members that require a 2023 Tax Receipts are requested to contact the Trustees as soon as possible so that the documentation may be prepared

Refreshments

  • Thanks to the refreshment committee for arranging today’s refreshments.
  • A reminder all parish members are requested to contribute their refreshment amount. $75 is the minimum however a higher contribution is encouraged due to the increased cost of items. Also, all parish families are requested to consider sponsoring refreshments on any Sunday, multiple families may sponsor refreshments together to ease the cost. This will tremendously help our refreshment committee in continuing to provide this invaluable service. Thank you to all for your consideration and support.
