Condolences

  • Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the sad demise of our former member Mr. E.M. Idicula (82), father of our former member Mr. Ajayan Idicula on Thursday, January 11th.  Funeral service was held this past Wednesday. May our Almighty Lord grant the family strength and comfort them with His peace.

Prayer Fellowships

  • Prayer group #2 will have a prayer meeting today, Sunday, January 21st at 5:00 pm at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Georgey & Mollykutty Mathews (32446 Sandstone Farmington Hills, MI 48334). All prayer group members are requested to attend.

Sunday School

  • First Communicants class will be held next Sunday, January 28th, at 7 pm via Zoom. All First Communicants are required to attend.
  • SS Teachers meeting on Friday, January 26th, at 7:00 pm via Zoom. 2023 Accounts and Annual Report will be reviewed for approval. All teachers are requested to attend.
  • A survey has been sent to all the Sunday School parents for expressing their thoughts on improving Sunday School Participation.  If any SS parents have not received the survey by email or WhatsApp, please contact your Sunday School Teacher or the SS Superintendent and complete the survey by January 31st, 2024.

Choir

  • Annual general body meeting of the DMTC choir will be held on Sunday, January 28th after the service.  Both English and Malayalam choir members are kindly requested to attend the meeting.

Sevika Sanghom

  • Monthly meeting of the Sevika Sanghom will be held on Saturday, February 3rd at 11 am at the church. Meeting will be followed by General Body with the following agenda:
    1. 2023 Annual Report
    2. 2023 Accounts
    3. 2024 Budget

    All Sevika Sanghom members are requested to attend

  • Diocesan Sevika Sanghom is conducting a welcome meeting for our Diocesan bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Mar Paulos Episcopa on Thursday February 1st, at 7:30 PM (EST) via Zoom platform. A devotional message will be delivered by Sevika Sanghom general secretary Mrs. Rachel George (Kochamma). Prayerful presence and participation of all Sevika Sanghom members is earnestly requested.

Edavaka Mission

  • Edavaka Mission General Body Meeting will be held on Sunday February 4th after the worship service. All members are requested to attend.

Note to Church Organizations – Annual General Body

  • All Church organizations are requested arrange with the Vicar and conduct their Annual General Body meeting as soon as possible and submit a copy of the Audited accounts and Organization report to the Office Bearers. Thank you ahead of time for your cooperation.

Note from Trustees

  • Those parish members that require a 2023 Tax Receipts are requested to contact the Trustees as soon as possible so that the documentation may be prepared

Refreshments

  • Thanks to the refreshment committee for arranging today’s refreshments and thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Philip William (Jojo) & Jini Abraham for sponsoring.
  • A reminder all parish members are requested to contribute their refreshment amount. $75 is the minimum however a higher contribution is encouraged due to the increased cost of items. Also, all parish families are requested to consider sponsoring refreshments on any Sunday, multiple families may sponsor refreshments together to ease the cost. This will tremendously help our refreshment committee in continuing to provide this invaluable service. Thank you to all for your consideration and support.

We will do our very best to live stream all church events, however as this is dependent on trained volunteers, there may be technical interruptions and occasions where live streaming is not available. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

  • Zeffy is a user-friendly platform for not-for-profit organizations that allows for one-time and reoccurring monthly contributions with a no transaction fee option.
