Condolences


  • Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the sad demise of Rev. George John (79), brother in law of our member Mrs. Lillykutty Samuel on Sunday, November 12th, in Kerala, India. May our Almighty Lord grant the family strength and comfort them with His peace.

  • The General Body Meeting of the Detroit Mar Thoma Church will be held on Sunday, November 19th, 2023 in the sanctuary after the Holy Communion Service presided by the President and Vicar, Rev. Prayer Fellowships


  • Prayer Group 5 will have a prayer meeting today, Sunday November 12th at 5:30pm at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. K.C. & Aleyamma Chacko in Sterling Heights, MI (2846 Burningbush Sterling Heights, MI. 48314). Election of prayer group 5 representative for the year 2024 will be held during this meeting.
  • Prayer Group 6 will have a prayer meeting on Wednesday November 15th at 8:30 pm via Zoom. Election of prayer group 6 representative for the year 2024 will be held during this meeting.
  • Prayer Group 2 will have a prayer meeting on Friday November 17th at 7:00 pm via Zoom. Election of prayer group 2 representative for the year 2024 will be held during this meeting.

Sunday School


  • Sunday School Teachers meeting will be held on Monday November 13th at 8:00 pm via Zoom. Election of 2024 office bearers will be conducted during the meeting. All teachers are requested to attend.
  • Christmas carol program practice schedule:
    • Sunday November 12th after the worship service
    • Saturday November 18th 10 am – 12 pm

    Encouraging all SS students to participate. For any questions with the program, please contact Mrs. Shalan George or Dr. Suma Thomas. Assistance is required from parents and church members please let the coordinators know if you are available to help.

Sevika Sanghom


  • Monthly Meeting of the Sevika Sanghom will be held today, Sunday November 12th after the worship service. Elections for the year 2024 will be held during the meeting. All Sevika Sanghom members are requested to attend.
  • Mid-West Regional Sevika Sanghom will host a prayer meeting on Thursday, November 16, 2023 @ 8:30 PM EST via Zoom. Edavaka Mission


  • Monthly Meeting of the Edavaka Mission will be held on Saturday November 18th at 11 am at the church. Elections for the year 2024 will be held during the meeting. All members are requested to attend

Christmas Carol Rounding


  • This year’s Christmas Carol Rounding is scheduled for 2 weekends. The following is the tentative carol rounding schedule:

    Saturday Dec. 2rd – Prayer Group 2

    Sunday Dec. 3rd – Prayer Group 1 & 4

    Saturday Dec 9th – Prayer Group 5 & 6

    Sunday Dec. 10th – Prayer Group 3

    Further details will be providing in the upcoming weeks.

    We will be visiting parish families as one carol rounding group. Those families who prefer the Carol Rounding group NOT to visit their homes are requested to inform their area prayer group leaders as soon as possible so that proper arrangements can be made.

    There will also be a Christmas Carol Rounding song practice today after the worship service. All interested carolers are requested to attend.

Youth Group


  • Youth Fellowship Thanksgiving Potluck will be held on Friday November 24th. YG is looking for volunteers to sign up for food items for youth group potluck, please reach out to a committee member if interested.
  • This year’s Midwest Regional Conference is being hosted by Detroit Marthoma Church from December 26th-29th. The conference’s theme is “Strength in Humility” and will be led by Ms. Betsy Chacko. We encourage all youths within the region to participate in this conference. Early registration will end on December 10th and the late registration deadline will be on December 17th.

  • The 27th Session of the Diocesan Leadership Conference will be hosted by the Epiphany Mar Thoma Church in Queens, New York from January 4th to 7th, 2024. the theme will be “SENT: Sent to see, Sent to seek, Sent to speak” based on Exodus 3:10: “So come, I will send you to Pharaoh to bring my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.”The conference is open to all youth members ages 21-35 and will be in-person. All those who are interested must first fill out an application, and if approved, a registration form will follow, and must be filled out in order to attend the conference. Encouraging all youth members to attend! The deadline to apply is November 15th, 2023.

Yuvajana Sakhyam


  • Yuvajana Sakhyam is supporting an Evangelist in the mission fields of India. Thus far funds were raised for a two-wheeler purchase and additional assistance is planned. Requesting contributions and the generous support from members.

  • The Edavaka Sangham list which includes all parish members 18 years or older is published in the notice board. Please note the list is put in order by house number.  All members are requested to review and please inform the Vicar or Secretary of any corrections.
  • Members contribution list through September 2023 is posted in the notice board. Please review and note the format of the contribution list is modified. Please contact the trustees for any questions or corrections

  • Parish Events for 2023 have been scheduled. The following are the event highlights for the rest of 2023.

We will do our very best to live stream all church events, however as this is dependent on trained volunteers there may be technical interruptions and occasions where live streaming is not available. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
