Prayer Fellowships

  • Prayer Group 2 will have a prayer meeting on Saturday, October 14th at 5:30pm at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Georgey & Mollykutty Mathews (32446 Sandstone Farmington Hills, MI 48334). All prayer group members are kindly requested to attend.

Parish Convention & Family Sunday

  • Our Parish Convention-2023 will be held from Friday October 27th to Sunday October 29th at our church. Theme for the convention is ”Renewal & Hope”. Rev. Oommen Philip, former Sabha Secretary of the Mar Thoma Church will be the guest speaker. Convention Date/Time are as follows:
      • Friday Oct. 27th @ 7:00 PM
      • Saturday, Oct. 28th @ 6:30 pm
      • Sunday, Oct. 29th, concluding session after the worship service.

    Please mark these dates on your calendar and requesting prayerful participation from all members. If any parish members require transportation to the church for convention, please contact area prayer group leaders or the Secretary.

  • Family Dedication and Tithe Sunday will also be celebrated on Sunday Oct. 29th. All families are requested to participate and sit together for the worship service. Families are also requested to prayerfully prepare and bring their tithe offering. Please keep the convention and Family Dedication/Tithe Sunday in your prayers.

Youth Group

  • There will be a Community Service event on Saturday October 14th from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. They will be participating in the Zoo Boo event at the Detroit Zoo, an annual merry-not scary Halloween event filled with trick-or-treat trail, photo opportunities and education activities for adults and kids set-up throughout the zoo. Volunteers will hand out treats at one of 12 different stations. Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age or older. Each person wanting to volunteer must register and complete background authorization form to be allowed to volunteer for this event. Yuvajana Sakhyam

  • Midwest Regional Yuvajana Sakhyam will be having a meeting on Wednesday, October 11th at 7:30 pm via Zoom. Theme for the meeting: “Reformers of the World through Divine Wisdom”. Main Speaker will be Rev. Sherin Mathews, Vicar of Mar Thoma Church of Baltimore. All Yuvajana Sakhyam members are requested to attend.
  • Monthly meeting of the Yuvajana Sakhyam will be held on Saturday, October 14th at 2:00 pm. This will be a joint meeting with St. John’s Mar Thoma Church Yuvajana Sakhyam. All Yuvajana Sakhyam members are requested to attend.
  • Yuvajana Sakhyam is supporting an Evangelist in the mission fields of India and is requesting financial support from members to support this cause. Further details will be provided in the upcoming weeks.

Edavaka Mission

  • Monthly meeting of the Edavaka Mission will be held on Saturday, October 21st at 11:00 am. All members are requested to attend
  • Charities – Edavaka Mission is supporting multiple charity causes and is requesting financial support from members. The following are the charity causes:
    • Udumalpet Mission: School and Food Kits
    • Punalur Boys Home
    • Medical treatment for wife of Evg. P. Ratheesh (Habel) who is working in Narasapuram Mission Field in Andra Pradesh

    Details of each charity request are posted in the notice board. All contributions should be made to the Detroit Mar Thoma Church with details of the desired charity. Thank you in advance for your support

Sevika Sanghom

  • Diocese of NAE Sevika Sanghom is conducting an essay competition based on the theme “Women Enriching Church Life: contribution of Sevika Sanghom to the spiritual Growth of Mar Thoma Church”, “സ്ത്രീകൾ സഭാ ജീവിരത്തിൽ: മാർത്ത്താമാ സഭയുടെ ആത്മീയ വളർച്ചയിൽ ത്സവികാ സംഘത്തിന്ടെ പങ്ക്. Essays can be composed either in English or Malayalam and competition will be conducted separately for each language. Submission of essay can be done via email to dsss.essay@gmail.com or postal mail to Rev. Joby John, 3760 14th St. Plano, TX 75074. The deadline for essay submissions is 6:00 PM ET on October 31, 2023. Please see Mrs. Reena Philip for the detailed rules/guidelines for the competition. There will be first and second place awards presented for the English and Malayalam essay competition. The winners will be announced at the Diocesan Sevika Sanghom meeting scheduled for December 15, 2023. All Sevika Sanghom members are encouraged to participate.

Church Parking Lot Sealing

  • Parking lot sealing work is scheduled from this Thursday October 12th to Saturday morning October 14th barring any weather delays.  The church parking lot will NOT be available during this time. All members and organizations please take note of the days and time and make alternative accommodations if needed. Requesting for everyone’s attention and cooperation.

Edavaka Sangham List / Members Contribution List

  • The Edavaka Sangham list which includes all parish members 18 years or older is published in the notice board. Please note the list is put in order by house number.  All members are requested to review and please inform the Vicar or Secretary of any corrections.
  • Members contribution list through September 2023 is posted in the notice board. Please review and note the format of the contribution list is modified. Please contact the trustees for any questions or corrections

Parish Events

  • Parish Events for 2023 have been scheduled. The following are the event highlights for the rest of 2023.
    • Parish Convention – Fri. October 27th to Sun. October 29th
    • Christmas Carol Rounding – Dec. 2nd,3rd,9th, and 10th
    • Christmas Carol Service – Sat. December 23rd

We request all parish members to mark these dates on your calendar and request everyone’s sincere participation.

We will do our very best to live stream all church events, however as this is dependent on trained volunteers there may be technical interruptions and occasions where live streaming is not available. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

  • Zeffy is a user-friendly platform for not-for-profit organizations that allows for one-time and reoccurring monthly contributions with a no transaction fee option.
