Prayer Fellowships
- Prayer Group 5 will have a prayer meeting on Sunday, October 1st at 5:30pm at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Joseph & Daizen Chacko (4129 Springbrook Dr. Sterling Heights, MI 48314). All prayer group members are kindly requested to attend.
Youth Group
- There will be a parent youth meeting today, September 24th after the service. They will be going over youth group activities planned for this year and answering any questions regarding the youth group. Requesting all parents of youths to join.
- There will be a youth activity this weekend, further details to be provided in the youth group email announcements.
2023 Diocesan Family Retreat
- Diocese of NAE is arranging a Family Retreat from October 6th–8th, 2023. The theme for the retreat will be: “Abundant Life: Rediscovering God’s Purpose” and will take place at the Carmel Mar Thoma Center in Atlanta, Georgia (6015 Old Stone Mountain Road, Stone Mountain, GA 30087). Distinguished speakers including Rt. Rev. Dr. Isaac Mar Philoxenos Diocesan Bishop, Rev. Dr. Victor Aloyo (Columbia Theological Seminary), Rev. Dr. Pramod Zachariah, Mrs. Susan Thomas, Dr. Cini Abraham, and Mrs. Roshin Abraham (Kochamma) will provide leadership throughout the retreat. The registration fee for the retreat will be $50.00 per person. Sevika Sanghom
- Sevika Sanghom regional meeting will be held on Saturday September 30th at Chicago Mar Thoma Church from 9:30 am – 3:30 pm CST. Rev. Ajith K. Thomas, Vicar of STMTC (Lombard, IL) will be the main speaker. Transportation arrangements from Detroit to Chicago are being arranged for the regional meeting, if interested please contact Mrs. Reena Philip or Mrs. Manju Chacko as soon as possible
Edavaka Mission
- Charities – Edavaka Mission is supporting multiple charity causes and is requesting financial support from members. The following are the charity causes:
- Udumalpet Mission: School and Food Kits
- Punalur Boys Home
- Medical treatment for wife of Evg. P. Ratheesh (Habel) who is working in Narasapuram Mission Field in Andra Pradesh
Details of each charity request are posted in the notice board. All contributions should be made to the Detroit Mar Thoma Church with details of the desired charity. Thank you in advance for your support
Showers of Blessings
- Mr. & Mrs. Adarsh and Maria (Ria) Abraham were blessed with a baby boy Adam Paul Abraham on Monday September 18th, 2023. The family would like to specially thank all parish members for their sincere prayers during the pregnancy. Thankfully baby and mother are doing well. Baby Adam is still in the NICU and the family requests for everyone’s continuous prayers so that Baby Adam may be able to come home soon. Congratulations to the family and may God strengthen and bless the newborn
Parish Events
- Parish Events for 2023 have been scheduled. The following are the event highlights for the rest of 2023.
- Parish Convention – Fri. October 27th to Sun. October 29th
- Christmas Carol Rounding – Dec. 2nd,3rd,9th, and 10th
- Christmas Carol Service – Sat. December 23rd
We request all parish members to mark these dates on your calendar and request everyone’s sincere participation.

We will do our very best to live stream all church events, however as this is dependent on trained volunteers there may be technical interruptions and occasions where live streaming is not available. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

- Zeffy is a user-friendly platform for not-for-profit organizations that allows for one-time and reoccurring monthly contributions with a no transaction fee option.
