Prayer Fellowships


  • Prayer Group 5 will have a prayer meeting on Sunday September 10th at 5:30pm at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Shaji Thomas & Laly Shaji in Sterling Heights, MI. (3425 Corkwood Dr. Sterling Heights, MI 48314). All prayer group members are kindly requested to attend.

Onam Sadhya


  • We will be having our Onam Sadhya on Sunday, September 17 after the worship service. Our Yuvajana Sakhyam and Sevika Sangham will be helping with organizing this event. We request the prayerful participation and support of all members. Volunteers are needed to bring and prepare onam sadhya items from home. A signup sheet will be sent along with the weekly announcements e-mail. Also please consider supporting this event with your donations so that items may be purchased as well. Sevika Sanghom


  • Diocesan Sevika Sanghom is arranging a Prayer Meeting on Friday, September 8, 2023, @ 8.00 PM (ET) on Zoom platform. Mrs. Susan Saji (Kochamma) will deliver the devotional message based on the theme “Empowered by Faith: Navigating the journey of mission “.   • Sevika Sanghom regional meeting will be held on Saturday September 30th at Chicago Mar Thoma Church from 9:30 am – 3:30 pm CST. Rev. Ajith K. Thomas, Vicar of STMTC (Lombard, IL) will be the main speaker. Transportation arrangements from Detroit to Chicago are being arranged for the regional meeting, if interested please contact Mrs. Reena Philip or Mrs. Manju Chacko as soon as possible

Sunday School


  • There will be a Sunday School Teachers meeting next Sunday, September 10th after the worship service. All teachers are requested to attend.As our children have started a new school year and new year of Sunday School let us keep them in our prayers that our Lord will continue to guide them, strengthen them, protect them and give them His great wisdom in this new school year.

Youth Group


  • Youth group is arranging a raffle ticket fundraiser to raise funds for the 2023 Midwest Regional Youth Conference in December. Youth members will be selling raffle tickets starting today, September 3rd in the fellowship hall. Prizes include 2 large prize baskets and 1 free attendance to regionals this year. Raffle drawing will be held on Saturday, September 23rd. For additional information please see any youth committee member, requesting your prayers and generous support.

Yuvajana Sakhyam


  • Mid-West Regional Yuvajana Sakhyam Conference and Kalamela-2023 will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church in Chicago, IL.

Encouraging and requesting all Yuvajana Sakhyam members and families to participate in the regional conference and regional level Kalamela

Edavaka Mission


  • Charities – Edavaka Mission is supporting multiple charity causes and is requesting financial support from members. The following are the charity causes:
    • Udumalpet Mission: School and Food Kits
    • Punalur Boys Home
    • Medical treatment for wife of Evg. P. Ratheesh (Habel) who is working in Narasapuram Mission Field in Andra Pradesh

    Details of each charity request are posted in the notice board. All contributions should be made to the Detroit Mar Thoma Church with details of the desired charity. Thank you in advance for your support

2023 Diocesan Family Retreat


  • Diocese of NAE is arranging a Family Retreat from October 6th–8th, 2023. The theme for the retreat will be: “Abundant Life: Rediscovering God’s Purpose” and will take place at the Carmel Mar Thoma Center in Atlanta, Georgia (6015 Old Stone Mountain Road, Stone Mountain, GA 30087). Distinguished speakers including Rt. Rev. Dr. Isaac Mar Philoxenos Diocesan Bishop, Rev. Dr. Victor Aloyo (Columbia Theological Seminary), Rev. Dr. Pramod Zachariah, Mrs. Susan Thomas, Dr. Cini Abraham, and Mrs. Roshin Abraham (Kochamma) will provide leadership throughout the retreat. First Fruit Auction


  • By God’s grace last Sunday we were able to celebrate the Harvest Season with our annual First Fruit Auction. On behalf of the coordinators, Mrs. Reena Philip and Mr. Runcie Chacko and the Executive Committee I would like to sincerely thank all of you for making our First Fruit Auction a tremendous success. Let me especially thank all the families who donated auction items, we had such a variety of amazing items this year. And a heartfelt thanks to all the families who generously participated during the auction. We were able to raise over $41,000, which is one of the highest amounts we have raised during First Fruit Auction. Once again thank you all and a friendly reminder to submit your First Fruit contributions to the Trustees.Also we have a few members with pending dues from Mar Thoma Fest please submit these contributions as well to the Trustees as soon as possible

Note from Trustees


  • It has been observed that many individuals are using the emergency exit doors in the sanctuary and in the parish hall to enter and exit the church. The trustees are requesting that individuals refrain from using these emergency exit doors in this manner. During many occasions the emergency exit doors have been left open with nobody inside the church, this is a serious safety and security matter. All members are requested to cooperate

We will do our very best to live stream all church events, however as this is dependent on trained volunteers there may be technical interruptions and occasions where live streaming is not available. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
