Condolences


  • Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the sad demise of Mr. N.G. George (79), uncle of our member Mrs. Annie Jacob in Kerala on Sunday, June 19th. Funeral service was held yesterday in Kerala. May our Almighty Lord grant the family strength and comfort them with His peace.

     

  • Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the sad demise of one of our church members Mrs. Veena Joseph (42), wife of Mr. Ashish Thomas and mother of Abhigail Thomas residing in Clinton Township, MI on Friday, June 24th. Funeral details will be provided later.  May our Almighty Lord grant the family strength and comfort them with His peace. As a church let us especially uplift Ashish and Abhigail in our prayers in this time of mourning.

Prayer Fellowship


  • Prayer Groups 1 and 4 will have a combined prayer meeting on Saturday, July 9th, at 6 pm at the church hosted by Mr. Mathew John (Sabu) and family and Mr. Sujeev Cherian & family. All prayer group members are requested to attend

Sevika Sanghom


  • Monthly Meeting of the Sevika Sanghom to be held on Sunday July 10th after the service. All Sevika Sanghom members are requested to attend

Youth Group


  • 5th Annual Midwest Sports Tournament is hosted by the Detroit Mar Thoma Church and St. John’s Mar Thoma Church youth groups on Saturday July 9th starting at 9 am at the Oakland Fieldhouse Sport Complex in Rochester Hills. Please note the change there will be NOT be a tournament on Friday July 8th, tournament will only be on Saturday July 9th. For those youths interested in participating in the tournament the Registration deadline is Sunday, June 26th! $25 per person to register, $30 for late registration. All church members are welcome to come, watch, and support the tournament at Oakland Fieldhouse.

    If anyone would like to donate to support the tournament, please visit the donation table set up in the hall after service.

    A bake sale will be held today in the hall to raise funds for the Midwest tournament. Requesting participation from all parish members.

Farewell Meeting for Kripa


  • As announced last week, Kripa Varghese, daughter of Jose Achen and Shyny Kochamma is traveling back to Kerala this Tuesday June 28th for her further studies. A small farewell meeting is planned for Kripa today after the worship service. All members are requested to attend.
