Condolences

  • Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the sad demise of Mr. Ipe John (56), uncle of our member Mrs. Sansu Mathai in Kerala on Saturday, May 28th. May our Almighty Lord grant the family strength and comfort them with His peace.

Worship Services

  • Next Sunday – June 5
    • 10:15 AM – Holy Communion Service in Malayalam
    • 9 AM – Sunday School
  • All are requested to wear face mask. Those who live in the same household are requested to sit together.
  • If you have a fever, cough, high temperature or any other symptoms, please stay home

Online Payments through PayPal

  • Please note that if you choose to send in your contribution through PayPal, please choose “Sending to Family & Friends” option. Otherwise there is a 3% fee that will be taken out of your contribution by PayPal. The church will not receive the full amount contributed.

Online Weekly Prayers

  • Intercessory Prayer on Wednesday at 7 PM (via Zoom)
  • Fasting prayer this Friday at 10:30 AM (via Zoom)

Sevika Sanghom

  • Retreat: Sevika Sanghom is organizing a retreat on Saturday, June 4th at 1 pm at the church. The theme for the retreat is “Pierced Silence” based on Esther 4:14. Rev. Jeswin John will be the main speaker. All Sevika Sanghom members are welcome and requested to attend the retreat.

Choir

  • The new Kristheeya Keerthanangal and Hasha kramam books are available for purchase. Please see the choir representatives in the parish hall to obtain your copy. The price is as follows:
    • Kristheeya Keerthanangal – $15
    • Hasha Kremam Malayalam – $10
    • Hasha Kremam Transliterated version – $10

    Payment accepted in the form of cash or check payable to Detroit Mar Thoma Church Choir.

Youth Group

  • Youth Group weekend is continuing today and tomorrow .
    • Boys and Girls Lock-in today evening, May 29th. Girls’ lock-in will be at Christina Cherian’s house and Boy’s Lock-in will be at Jaiden and Julian’s house. For those attending lock-in please bring a bible and sleeping bag if available
    • Youth Group Picnic on Monday, May 30th at 10 am at Rotary Park in Livonia.
    • All youths attending the Lock-in and/or the Youth Picnic are requested to bring $10 to cover cost
  • Youth Group would like to sincerely thank all members who supported and donated to the clothing drive that concluded last week, we hope and pray the clothing drive will bless many who are less fortunate in our community.

Sunday School

  • Sunday School Teachers meeting will be held on Sunday June 5th at the Church immediately after refreshments. All teachers are requested to attend.
  • VBS 2022 will be held on Monday June 20th to Sunday June 26th at the church. All Sunday school children/students are requested to register online as early as possible on the VBS website. Registration is $5 per child or $20 maximum per family. $10 extra for T-shirt if desired. Registration fee and T-shirt cost is accepted through Venmo or check to the Detroit Mar Thoma Church, please write VBS 2022 and the name of the child registering in the memo.
    • VBS 2022 T-shirt design contest has started. Please submit T-shirt designs to Shawn Thomas by e-mail at sthomas82@gmail.com, deadline for submission is Saturday June 4th. Designs should be in black & white and include non-copyrighted material.
    • Lastly volunteers are needed for VBS, all those interested in volunteering are requested to submit their information on the VBS website: https://www.myvbs.org/dmtcFor any questions regarding VBS 2022 please contact Susie Thomas or Tenny Samuel
