Condolence


  • Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the sad demise of Mr. Jacob Koshy, brother-in-law of our member Mr. Boben George in Kerala on Saturday April 23rd. Funeral will be held on Thursday, April 28th at 1:30 PM (IST) at Jerusalem MTC. Elamkulam, Kochi. May our Almighty Lord grant the family strength and comfort them with His peace.

Prayer Fellowship


  • Prayer Group 4 will have prayer meeting today April 24th at 5:00pm at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Varghese in Canton, MI. All prayer group members are requested to attend
  • Thanks to all who have reviewed the published Prayer Group List and provided corrections. As announced and published Prayer Groups 5, 6, and 7 has been reorganized as Prayer Groups 5 and 6. We thank all the prayer group families for their understanding and support with this change.
  • With this reorganization Mr. K.C. Chacko will officially continue as Prayer Group 5 representative and Mr. C.V. Samuel will officially continue as Prayer Group 6 representative. May God continue to nurture, grow and strengthen our prayer fellowships in the years to come.

Choir


  • A meeting of the Detroit Mar Thoma Church Choir General Body meeting will be held today April 24th after worship service in the sanctuary. All choir members are requested to attend this meeting. The following is the agenda:

  • Choir is planning to order Kristheeya Keerthangal books and Hasha Kramam books from Kerala. Approximately 500 songs are included in this song book version. If interested please visit the sign up table set-up in the hall or contact area prayer group leaders.

Sevika Sanghom


  • Next Monthly Meeting of the Sevika Sangham to be held on May 7th at 3pm at the residence of Mrs. Saramma Varghese in Farmington Hills, MI. All Sevika Sangham members are requested to attend
  • Midwest Regional Sevika Sanghom Retreat to be held on Saturday April 30th at 11 AM via Zoom. Anjana Reji Kochamma from Christos Mar Thoma Church, Philadelphia will be the main speaker. Yuvajana Sakhyam


  • Yuvajana Sakhyam is hosting a Family Retreat on Saturday May 14th from 9:30am to 1:30pm at the church.Theme for the retreat is: “Faith & Life in Challenging Situations”. Mrs. Shijy Alex, member of Chicago Mar Thoma Church will be the main speaker. All families of our parish are welcome and encouraged to join the retreat.

Youth Group


  • Starting today, April 24th, Youth Group will be starting a clothing drive. Requesting all youths and church members to bring any unwanted clothes for donation. Collection will continue through Sunday, May 22nd. Please ensure that all donations are clean, in fair condition, and do not have any graphic messages/profanity.  If there are any questions, please reach out to Christina Cherian or Benjamin Mathews.

Edavaka Mission


  • The 16th Mar Thoma Voluntary Evangelists’ Association Diocesan conference will be hosted by the South East Region MTVEA from August 18th through 21st in Carlisle, PA. The theme of the conference is based on Luke 10:5 “Peace builders in the Kingdom of God” and will be lead by Rt. Rev. Dr. Isaac Mar Philoxenos Episcopa, and our own prominent clergy and lay leaders.
    • Conference highlights include motivating messages, Bible Study, Praise and Worship, Missions Awareness Session, Group Discussions/Activities, Witnessing, Talent Night and last but not least, visit to Sight and Sound Theater to experience one of the most legendary Bible story (DAVID)
    • Registration kick off and website launching was held on February 27th at Bethel Mar Thoma Church Philadelphia

Native American Mission


Refreshments


  • Thanks to the refreshment committee for arranging today’s refreshments. Please note that refreshments will be available for 30 minutes after the service. Refreshment committee request all members to take refreshments within this time.
  • Also a friendly reminder from the refreshment committee, all families are requested to contribute $75 to the church for refreshments. Refreshment committee is having difficulties making weekly arrangements as funds are very low this year therefore all families are requested to contribute as soon as possible. Thank you to those who have already contributed and for your cooperation and understanding.
  • Additionally if any members or families are interested in sponsoring refreshments a particular day please contact refreshment committee convenor Mrs. Sheeba Shinoj.
