Condolences

  • Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the sad demise of Mr. Sajan Mathews (55 years, Charuvel House, Cherukole, Kozhencherry) uncle (Father’s brother) of our member Mr. Ajay Mathew John on November 17th in Dallas, TX. Funeral Service will be held on November 24th at the Sehion Marthoma Church of Dallas. May our Almighty Lord grant them strength and comfort them with His peace.

General Body Notice

  • The General Body Meeting of the Detroit Mar Thoma Church will be held on Sunday, November 28th, 2021 in the sanctuary after the Holy Communion Service presided by the President and Vicar, Rev. Varghese Thomas. All General Body members are requested to attend this meeting.

    The agenda is as follows:
    1. Election of the office bearers, Auditors, Refreshment Committee and Maintenance Committee for the year 2022.
    2. Home for Evangelist

  • Please note that if you choose to send in your contribution through PayPal, please choose “Sending to Family & Friends” option. Otherwise there is 3% fee that will be taken out of your contribution by PayPal. The church will not receive the full amount contributed.

  • Prayer Group 7 will have prayer meeting today at 5:30 PM via Zoom. Prayer Group leader for the year 2022 will be elected in this meeting.
  • Prayer Group leaders for the year 2022 for the following prayer groups will be elected on November 28th, Sunday via Zoom meeting.
    • Prayer Group 1 – November 28th, Sunday at 5:30 PM via Zoom.
    • Prayer Group 2 – November 28th, Sunday at 6:00 PM via Zoom.
    • Prayer Group 3 – November 28th, Sunday at 6:30 PM via Zoom.
    • Prayer Group 4 – November 28th, Sunday at 7:00 PM via Zoom.
    • Prayer Groups 5&6 – November 28th, Sunday at 7:30 PM via Zoom.

Sunday School

  • Christmas Carol Program Practice: Sunday School Christmas Carol Program practice will be held today after the refreshment at the church.
    The next practice will be held on Sunday, November 28th after refreshments
  • World Sunday School Day – For those who have not been able to give their World Sunday School Day Donations yet, please feel free to give your contributions in the upcoming weeks.
  • Kids Helping Kids Project: The Diocese is collecting donations for the Kids Helping Kids Project during the month of November. Sunday school will have a container available during Sunday school class time for everyone to donate. Please participate by donating $1 or more.

Sevika Sanghom

  • Sevika Sanghom General Body Meeting will be held today immediately after the service (before refreshments). Election of office bearers for the year 2022 will be held during this meeting.
  • Sevika Sanghom is requesting your kind hearted support to help a young girl who’s diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy. Please make check payable to Sevika Sanghom Esther fund.

Senior Fellowship

  • Senior Fellowship General Body Meeting will be held on Saturday, November 27th at 3:00 pm at the Church. Election of office bearers for the year 2022 will be held in this meeting

Youth Group

  • Youth Group Thanksgiving Potluck will be held on November 27th, Saturday at 11:30 am at church. Lunch will be provided – potluck style. All youths are encouraged to come and participate.
  • Youth Group General Body Meeting will be held on December 5th, Sunday after the worship service at the church. Election of office bearers for the year 2022 will be held during this meeting.
  • Midwest Regional Youth Conference-2021

    Midwest Regional Youth Conference-2021 will be held on December 27th and 28th at St. Thomas Marthoma Church of Chicago. The theme for this year is “Unashamed”. “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit” 2 Corinthians 3:18. Flyer and registration will be provided soon. More information will be provided soon.

  • 25TH DIOCESAN LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

    The 25th Session of the Diocesan Leadership Conference will be hosted by the Redeemer Mar Thoma Church at the America’s Keswick Christian Retreat & Conference Center in Whiting, New Jersey from January 6th to 9th, 2022. This year’s theme will be “In His Service” based on Colossians 3:23-24 The Diocesan Youth Fellowship Council and hosting parish cordially invite all youths from the ages of 21-35 to apply, register, and attend the conference. The last day to register is November 21st. Diocesan Leadership Conference also has a virtual option for those who don’t plan on attending this conference in person. Choir

  • The Choir General Body Meeting will be held on Sunday, Dec 05th after the worship service in the sanctuary. Office bearers for the year 2022 will be elected in this meeting. All choir members are requested to attend.
  • Our choir is planning to purchase an acoustic guitar for the church. If anyone is interested to sponsor towards this cost, please contact the English choir leader Miss. Rebecca Varghese (248-289-2598) or choir secretary Mr. Thomas Varghese (313-805-2888).

Yuvajana Sakhyam

  • Yuvajana Sakhyam membership list for the year 2022 is posted on the notice board. Please review and if you have any updates please let Yuvajana Sakhyam Secretary know before Dec 12th, 2021.

Carol Rounding – 2021

  • This year our parish’s Carol Rounding is being scheduled between Dec 4th and 12th. Those who are interested in hosting the carol rounding group should inform prayer group leaders or sign up online by November 28th. All are requested to contribute to the Christmas donations.

Trustees Appeal

  • We have only 5 Sundays to close the financial year on De 31st. Kindly make all the payments (subscription, Tithe and Auction) as early as possible. Your support is prayerfully appreciated

  • Dedication Souvenir will be distributed after the worship service in the Fellowship Hall. Please collect your copies

Showers of Blessings

Mr. George & Susan Mathew were blessed with a grandchild Adrian Anoop on November 14th, Sunday. Baby Adrian and mother are doing well. Congratulations to the family.
