Condolences

  • Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the sad demise of Mr. John Mathew (Saji – 56 years, Chathanattu, Kuttapuzha, Thiruvalla) younger brother of our member Mrs. Sansu Mathai’s father on August 16th, 2021 in Thiruvalla, Kerala. May our Almighty Lord grant them strength and comfort them with His peace.
  • Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the sad demise of Mrs. Annamma Idicula (98 years) grandmother of our member Mrs. Nancy Varghese on August 17th in Puthencavu, Kerala. May our Almighty Lord grant them strength and comfort them with His peace.

Worship Service

  • Next Sunday – August 29 at 4:30 PM
    • Dedication Service of the new Madbaha and Holy Qurbana in Malayalam at 4:30 PM (Live Streaming)
  • Please register to get an accurate count for the Holy Communion as well as for the fellowship dinner after the service.
    • Only one form submission is required per family
    • Indicate how many are attending the event and how many are participating in the Holy Communion.
    • All are requested to wear face mask.

Online Payments through PayPal

  • Please note that if you choose to send in your contribution through PayPal, please choose “Sending to Family & Friends” option. Otherwise there is 3% fee that will be taken out of your contribution by PayPal. The church will not receive the full amount contributed.

Prayer Group

  • Prayer Group 2: will have a prayer meeting on August 22nd, Sunday at 3:30 pm at the residence of Mr. Lal & Sunita Thomas in Farmington Hills. Address: 30226 Kingsway Dr., Farmington Hills

Sunday School

  • Sunday school classes for the new school year will start on September 5th, Sunday. All students and teachers are requested to participate in the dedication service on September 5th, Sunday.
  • Teachers are requested to submit the signed covenants before the service. Students are encouraged to bring Vijayadina sthothram offertory during their dedication.
  • Sunday School Teachers meeting will be held today immediately after the refreshments. All teachers are requested to attend.

Edavaka Mission

  • Edavaka Mission is requesting wholehearted support of all the members for helping the needy in Kerala, those who are going through tough times due to the pandemic. We have received many requests for financial assistance, especially from Evangelists who are having hard times because of the Pandemic. Please make your donations to DMTC and in the Memo please write “Edavaka Mission”. You can also make donations through the payment options such as Venmo and PayPal.

Sevika Sanghom

  • Our Sevika Sanghom decided to collect a fund “Esther Fund” to help with charity projects. Humbly request your generous donations and prayerful support. Please make a check to DMTC and in the memo write Sevika Sanghom – Esther Fund. You can also make donations through the payment options such as Venmo and Paypal

Yuvajana Sakhyam

  • DMTC Yuvajana Sakhyam is fundraising for nursing student education aid, an evangelist’s home, and Tharangam Mission Action Center, Arattapuzha, Chengannur. The fundraising goal is for $3000. Encouraging church members to support Yuvajana Sakhyam for these fundraisers. Please make a check to DMTC and in the memo write Yuvajana Sakhyam CHARITY AID. You can also make donations through the payment options such as Venmo and Paypal.
  • Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam Diocese of North America and Europe 21st National YS conference will be held on November 12th-14th 2021, hosted by Immanuel MTC Yuvajanasakhyam Houston. Theme: Fruit Bearing Discipleship (John 15:8). YS members are encouraged to register and be a part of the conference. Registration Link – ysconference2021.org. As a part of the conference, Conference Souvenir will be released. Deadline to submit ads, articles by August 30th at 7 pm. All matters regarding the souvenir need to be emailed to souvenir@ysconference2021.org.

  • Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam Diocese of North America and Europe proudly presents Sadhu Kochoonju Upadesi Sangeetha Sandhya on August 29th at 8 pm EST via different online platforms. Rt. Rev. Dr. Isaac Mar Philoxenos Episcopa will be delivering the message. Beautiful soulful songs presented by YS choirs of North America and Canada. The program will be live on Mar Thoma Media (FB and YouTube), DSMC, ABBA News, and Malayali Entertainment TV. Requesting everyone’s heartfelt support and prayers.

Auction – 2021

  • Our Church is planning to celebrate this year’s Harvest season (first fruit auction) on September 5th, Sunday immediately after the worship service. We request all the members to be part of this by contributing items for auction and participate in the bidding. Last year we have collected around $45,000 and we hope and pray that this year also it will be a success. 15% of the total collection will be used for Good Samaritan fund.   • The 33rd Diocesan Family Conference is scheduled to be held at the Carmel Mar Thoma Center, Atlanta from October 29th to October 31st, 2021.

DMTC Souvenir – 2021

  • There are very few members who are yet to send their pictures/material and payment for the souvenir. Please send material to dmtc.souvenir@gmail.com and payment to the Trustee as early as possible. Please contact Souvenir committee convener Mr. C. V. DMTC Expansion Project Sponsorship Update

  • Project Update: All the inspections and permits have been closed with city including the Audio Video this week. Carpenter is still finishing up some of the furniture works and it will be finished by Monday. Integrity Builders will start staining the remaining areas from Monday. Parking lot Final asphalt finish work is expected to start on Monday and will continue for couple of days. The new pews are going to be installed in couple of days. AV work is almost done and is going to do some sound testing next week and will be ready for Sunday. Curtain installers are expected to be here Thursday to hang the remaining curtains and fine tune our Madbaha curtain. Overall, everything will be finished and church will be ready for next Sunday.   • Sponsorship Update: There are still more items that are available for sponsorship. We request individuals/group/Organization to sponsor some of the remaining items. For any further information, please contact church trustee Mr. George Koshy (248-615-1888).
