Condolences

  • Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the sad demise of Mrs. Mariyamma Lukose (97 years old) aunt of our member Mr. Santosh Thomas (Northville) on Monday, Nov 9, 2020 in Kampamcodu, Kerala. May the Almighty Lord strengthen and comfort the family with peace that passeth all human understanding.

Election of Office Bearers for the Year 2021

  • Notification from Rev. Varghese Thomas (Vicar & Returning officer) is attached.
  • All prayer groups and church organizations are requested to elect their representatives to the executive committee on or before December 5th.

Worship Services

  • Next Sunday – November 22nd
    • Holy Qurbana Service in English at 10:15 am (Live Streaming)
    • Sunday School – Common Session at 9 AM (via Zoom)
      • Effective from November 22nd only a total of 25 members will be allowed to attend the worship service. Each individual who wish to come will need to sign the waiver using the following link. Please indicate on the form whether you will be participating in the Holy Communion

Online Payments through PayPal

  • Please note that if you choose to send in your contribution through PayPal, please choose “Sending to Family & Friends” option. Otherwise there is 3% fee that will be taken out of your contribution by PayPal. The church will not receive the full amount contributed.

Online Weekly Prayers

  • Prayer Meetings on Monday, Wednesday and Friday 7 PM by Zoom
  • Fasting prayer on Friday at 10:30 AM by Zoom

Sunday School

  • Sunday School Teacher’s meeting will be held today at 5pm via zoom.
  • World Sunday school day offertory will be collected and the funds will be completely utilized by the Diocese for the ‘Kids for Kids’ project. Please mail the checks to our church address with “World SS Day” in the memo by Nov 22nd.
  • Christmas Carol Service: All students (pre-school thru 12th grade) who are interested in participating for this year’s virtual Christmas Carol service program please provide your names to your teachers or to Sincie Chacko or Elsa Varghese by today.

Edavaka Mission

  • Edavaka Mission General Body meeting & monthly meeting will be held on November 22nd, Sunday at 5:30 pm via Zoom. Office bearers for the year 2021 will be elected at this meeting.

Sevika Sanghom

 

  • Sevika Sanghom General Body meeting & monthly meeting will be held on December 5th, Saturday at 5:30pm via Zoom. Office bearers for the year 2021 will be elected at this meeting.
  • Sevika Sangham is planning to give education aid to the children of Evangelists working in the Mission fields. Requesting your kind hearted support and please make check to Detroit Marthoma Church and in the memo write Sevika Sangham Project.

Youth Group

  • Youth Group will have a Saturday Night Sing (Praise and Worship Night) on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 6 PM via YouTube Live and our Youth Group encourage everyone to attend virtually.

Diocesan Directory – 2020

  • Diocesan Directory-2020 is ready for distribution. Those who ordered the Diocesan Directory-2020, please contact Mr. C. V. Samuel (586-216-0602) for your copy.

DMTC Project Update

  • Integrity builders have finished roofing, windows & door installation. Brick work is continuing and Dome will be installed in the next week. If you have any questions regarding the project, please contact Project convener Mr. Vinod Thomas or Parish office bearers. Those who have not paid your pledge amount yet, please mail the check to church address as early as possible. Please continue to support the project through your prayers and generous financial support.

Thanks to Varghese Thomas Achen for celebrating today’s Holy Qurbana and for the message. Thanks to lay leader Mr. Kuruvilla Thomas & Malayalam Choir members for assisting in today’s service.
