Condolences – His Grace the most Rev. Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan

  • Detroit Mar Thoma Parish joins the Church, in expressing our sorrow at the demise of our beloved HG The Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan on October 18th, Sunday 2:30am Indian time. We praise God for the life, ministry and great leadership that Metropolitan Thirumeni rendered to the church. Let us uphold The Church, The Episcopas, The Priests and Laity of The Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church in our prayers as we go through the difficult phase of losing a great legacy. May the Almighty Lord strengthen the Church with peace that passeth all human understanding. There will be a condolence meeting immediately after the announcements.

Worship Services

  • Next Sunday – October 25th (Family & Tithe Sunday)
    • Holy Qurbana Service in English at 10:15 am (Live Streaming)
    • Sunday School – Common Session at 9 AM (via Zoom)

As per the decision of the Executive committee:

      • Total of 25 members are allowed to attend the worship service
      • Total of 8 members will be allowed to participate in the Holy Qurbana.  Each individual that is interested to participate needs to register individually and sign the waiver using the following link:

        • You will receive an initial email confirming your request and then another email once the request has been approved.

        • Note: If you have recently participated in the Holy Communion, please give other members a chance to participate also.

If anyone is interested to come and participate in the service at the church, especially those who are celebrating birthday or wedding anniversary please inform the Vicar or Secretary.

Online Payments through PayPal

  • Please note that if you choose to send in your contribution through PayPal, please choose “Sending to Family & Friends” option. Otherwise there is 3% fee that will be taken out of your contribution by PayPal. The church will not receive the full amount contributed.

Online Weekly Prayers

  • Prayer Meetings on Monday and Wednesday 7 PM by Zoom (Friday prayer is cancelled)
  • Fasting prayer on Friday at 10:30 AM by Zoom

Parish Convention & Christian Family Dedication Sunday

  • DMTC Parish convention-2020 will be held from Friday, October 23rd  to Sunday, October 25th via Zoom. Convention will start at 7:00 PM on Friday October 23rd and Rev. P. K. Zachariah will be the speaker. On Saturday, October 24th, 7:00 PM Rev. Larry Varghese will give the message. Sunday, October 25th will be observed as the Christian Family Dedication Sunday and Tithe Sunday, Rev. P. K. Zachariah will give the concluding message after the worship service.

Yuvajana Sakhyam

  • Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam is celebrating Yuvajana Varam from October 12th to 18th. October 18th 2020 is observed as Yuvajana Sakhyam Sunday. As a part of this year’s Yuvajana Varam, Yuvajan Sakhyam will be supporting the Light to life project of our Diocese, by sponsoring 30 kids. Requesting each Yuvajana Sakhyam Sakha to sponsor at least one child. Sponsor expenses will be $20 per month or $240 per year. Please contact Yuvajana Sakhyam secretary Mrs. Shalan George for more details.
  • Our Yuvajana Sakhyam is requesting your kind hearted donations to give financial support to Education Aid and needy community during this Covid Crisis. Please make check to Detroit Marthoma Church and in the memo write Yuvajana Sakhyam Charity project or please use Online Payment Options.

  • Edavakasangam list is published on the notice board. Please review the list and if there are any corrections, please contact the Vicar.

DMTC Project Update

  • Integrity builders have finished roof tress work and will start roof boarding and expecting to finish the roofing & walls in the next couple of weeks. Land clearing for the parking lot construction will begin this week. You can view the construction progress by visiting the church website. If you have any questions regarding the project, please contact Project convener Mr. Vinod Thomas or Parish office bearers. Please continue to support the project through your prayers and generous financial support.
