Condolences

  • Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the sad demise of Mrs. Susy Joseph (75 years, Palathinkal, Kottayam) Mother of our member Mrs. Veena Joseph (mother-in-law of Mr. Ashish Thomas, Clinton Township) on Thursday, October 1st, 2020 in Dallas. May the Almighty Lord strengthen and comfort the family with peace that passeth all human understanding

Worship Services

  • Next Sunday – October 18th (Yuvajana Sakhyam Sunday)
    • Holy Qurbana Service in Malayalam at 10:15 am (Live Streaming)
    • Sunday School – Common Session at 9 AM (via Zoom)

As per the decision of the Executive committee:

      • Total of 25 members are allowed to attend the worship service
      • Total of 8 members will be allowed to participate in the Holy Qurbana.  Each individual that is interested to participate needs to register individually and sign the waiver using the following link:

        • You will receive an initial email confirming your request and then another email once the request has been approved.

        • Note: If you have recently participated in the Holy Communion, please give other members a chance to participate also.

If anyone is interested to come and participate in the service at the church, especially those who are celebrating birthday or wedding anniversary please inform the Vicar or Secretary.

  • Please note that if you choose to send in your contribution through PayPal, please choose “Sending to Family & Friends” option. Otherwise there is 3% fee that will be taken out of your contribution by PayPal. The church will not receive the full amount contributed.

Online Weekly Prayers

  • Prayer Meetings on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7 PM by Zoom
  • Fasting prayer on Friday at 10:30 AM by Zoom

Sunday School

  • Teacher’s meeting will be held today at 6 pm via Zoom. All teachers are requested to attend this meeting.

Edavaka Mission

  • Monthly meeting will be held on Saturday, October 17th at 6:00 pm via Zoom.

Youth Group

  • The Youth Group will have a Drive-In movie on Saturday, October 17th at 7:00 pm at the church. All Youth Group members are encouraged to attend..

Yuvajana Sakhyam

  • Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam is celebrating Yuvajana Varam from October 12th to 18th. October 18th 2020 is observed as Yuvajana Sakhyam Sunday. As a part of this year’s Yuvajana Varam, Yuvajan Sakhyam will be supporting the Light to life project of our Diocese, by sponsoring 30 kids. Requesting each Yuvajana Sakhyam Sakha to sponsor at least one child. Sponsor expenses will be $20 per month or $240 per year. Please contact Yuvajana Sakhyam secretary Mrs. Shalan George for more details.
  • Our Yuvajana Sakhyam is requesting your kind hearted donations to give financial support to Education Aid and needy community during this Covid Crisis. Please make check to Detroit Marthoma Church and in the memo write Yuvajana Sakhyam Charity project or please use Online Payment Options.

DMTC Project Update

  • Integrity builders have started framing of the walls and expecting to finish the walls & roofing in the next couple of weeks. Preparation work for the parking lot construction has started and is planning to begin the land clearing this week. You can view the construction progress by visiting the church website. You are also welcome to come and see the work progress. If you have any questions regarding the project, please contact Project convener Mr. Vinod Thomas or Parish office bearers. Please continue to support the project through your prayers and generous financial support.

Parish Convention & Christian Family Dedication Sunday

  • DMTC Parish convention-2020 will be held from October 23rd Friday to October 25th Sunday via Zoom. Convention will start at 7:00 PM on Friday October 23rd and Rev. P. K. Zachariah will be the speaker. On Friday October 25th, 7:00 PM Rev. Larry Varghese will give the message. October 25th Sunday will be observed as the Christian Family Dedication Sunday and Tithe Sunday, Rev. P. K. Zachariah will give the concluding message after the worship service.
