Announcements – September 13, 2020


  • Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the sad demise of DR. T. A. ABRAHAM (70 years old), younger brother of our member Mr. Abraham George’s father (uppappan of Aby-Windsor) on Thursday, Sep 10th, 2020 in Maramon, Kerala. Funeral service was held on September 12th, Saturday at Maramon Mar Thoma Church. May the Almighty Lord strengthen and comfort the family with peace that passeth all human understanding.

Worship Services

  • Next Sunday – September 20th (Senior Citizens Sunday)
    • Holy Qurbana Service in Malayalam at 10:15 am (Live Streaming)
    • Sunday School – Common Session at 9 AM (via Zoom)

As per the decision of the Executive committee:

      • Total of 25 members are allowed to attend the worship service
      • Total of 8 members will be allowed to participate in the Holy Qurbana.  (The registration for September 20th has already been filled. The next open registration will be made available for the September 27th Holy Qurbana Service)

If anyone is interested to come and participate in the service at the church, especially those who are celebrating birthday or wedding anniversary please inform the Vicar or Secretary.

  • Please note that if you choose to send in your contribution through PayPal, please choose “Sending to Family & Friends” option. Otherwise there is 3% fee that will be taken out of your contribution by PayPal. The church will not receive the full amount contributed.

  • Fasting prayer on Friday at 10:30 AM by Zoom

Edavaka Mission

  • Monthly meeting will be held on September 19th, Saturday at 6 pm via Zoom.

Sunday School

  • Vijayadhinam Sthothram is being collected. Please mail the checks to the church address and write “Vijayadhinam Sthothram” in the memo.
  • SS morning common sessions has started from today. It is at 9 am via zoom. All children are requested to participate in the morning session.

First Fruits Auction

  • We had our harvest & first fruit auction last Sunday and it was a huge success. By God’s grace and the overwhelming support from the Church family, we collected $44,000. I want to thank the coordinators Mr. C. V. Samuel, Mrs. Shalan George, Prayer group leaders and all those who worked hard to make it a grand success. Once again thank you all for the wholehearted support.


Thanks to Varghese Thomas Achen for celebrating today’s holy Qurbana and Mrs. Blessy Mathew for the message. Thanks to P. Chacko Achen, lay leader Mr. Justin Abraham, English Choir members and Sevika Sangham members for assisting in today’s service.
