Joel 2:12
“Even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.”
In the rhythm of our busy lives, It’s easy to let moments of reflection slip away, forgetting to acknowledge the Lord’s presence and blessings. Lent season offers us an opportunity to pause and intentionally return to God through repentance and renewed devotion. As Christians, we can embrace this season as a call to reorient our hearts and minds toward Him.
Lent is an invitation to return to God with our whole being, seeking His presence through prayer and fasting. It’s a time to release the distractions that pull us away, to humbly confess our shortcomings, and to embrace spiritual renewal. Distractions come in many form. For some it is excessive social media use and for others it could be material pursuits. It is important that we identify and minimize distractions that hinder our relationship with the Lord.
Wherever we find ourselves on our faith journey, Lent provides a chance to respond to the Lord’s loving call to return. By turning toward God, we open our hearts to be reshaped by His transformative love, and through fasting and prayer, we deepen our relationship with Him.
CLOSING PRAYER

As we enter this Lenten season, we humbly come before you, acknowledging our need for your grace and guidance. Open our hearts to your transformative love, that we may be reshaped and renewed in your image. Grant us the strength to release the distractions that hinder our devotion, and empower us to seek your presence through prayer and fasting. Help us to remain steadfast in our commitment to you, drawing ever closer to your loving embrace. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen.
