Prayer Fellowship
- Prayer group 5 will have a prayer meeting today, Sunday October 20th at 5:30 pm at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Joseph & Daizen Chacko in Sterling Heights, MI (4129 Springbrook Dr. Sterling Heights, MI 48314). Election of prayer group 5 representative for the year 2025 will be held during this meeting.
Family & Tithe Sunday
- Family Dedication and Tithe Sunday will be celebrated on Sunday Oct. 27th. Our former vicar Rev. Dr. Moni Mathew will be joining us and celebrating the Holy Communion. All families are requested to attend and to sit together for the worship service. We will have Family Sunday fellowship lunch after the service as well. Families are requested to prayerfully prepare and bring their tithe offering, tithe offering envelopes are being distributed today. Please keep the Family & Tithe Sunday in your prayers.
Youth Group
- Diocesan Leadership Conference hosted by our DMTC Youth Group will be held on January 2-5th, 2025. Youths who are 21 years and older and are interested in the conference are requested to complete the online registration and verification form. Links are below. Our youths are also seeking help in housing conference attendees and financial donations from members. Yuvajana Sakhyam
- Monthly meeting on Saturday November 9th at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Prasanth and Snella Mathew in Macomb, MI (21080 Strawberry Hills Dr., Macomb, MI 48044). Thanksgiving will be celebrated potluck style during the meeting. A signup sheet for potluck items will be shared separately. Election of 2025 office bearers will be held during this meeting. Seeking prayerful participation of all YS members
- A gentle reminder to all YS members to submit their $5 Yuvajana Sakhyam membership fees at the earliest. Please reach out YS office bearers for payment and further assistance
Choir
- A choir voice test will be held today October 20th after worship service to add new members to both English and Malayalam choirs. Parish members 12 years of age or above can participate in the voice test and are required to sing one of the 2 assigned songs selected by the judges and another song of their choice. Those who are interested in participating in the voice test please give your names to the choir leaders Mr. Philip Varghese or Ms. Emily Kuruvilla. Following are the songs assigned:

Sevika Sanghom
- The Sevika Sanghom General Body meeting will be held today, October 20th, immediately following the service, for election of 2025 SS office bearers.. Requesting all SS members to participate
- Suvishesha Sevika Sanghom Mid-West Region is hosting a one day retreat this Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm at Detroit Mar Thoma Church. Theme: Women – Witnesses of the Gospel – St. Luke 8: 1-3 and Rev. Jaisen A. Thomas, Vicar of St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church, Lombard, Chicago will be the main speaker.This retreat marks the first since 2018 and over 150 participants are anticipated to join from all across the Midwest region. It will be a day filled with spiritual enrichment, fellowship, and the chance to strengthen our community. With a thoughtfully planned program, looking forward to a truly blessed and inspiring time together.To help cover the retreat expenses, Sevika Sanghom is kindly requesting all Women’s Ministry members, ladies aged 18 and older, to contribute a minimum of $20. Your contribution will play a key role in making this event possible. Thank you, and look forward to your wholehearted participation!
- The video recording of the Midwest Region Sevika Sanghom Christmas Carol is scheduled for October 27th, shortly after lunch. All SS members are requested to return to the sanctuary promptly so the recording can be started. Also there will be a mandatory song practice next Sunday at 9:30am in the balcony.
Senior Fellowship
- Monthly meeting of the Senior Fellowship will be held on Saturday November 2nd at 11 am at the church. Election of 2025 office bearers will be held during this meeting. All Senior fellowship members are requested to attend.
Ecumenical Christmas Program
- Detroit Ecumenical Council’s 30th Christmas Program will be conducted on Dec 29th, Sunday 5PM at in our Fellowship Hall. The Ecumenical Christmas Carol Choir will be part of the program, those who would like to sing and be part of the Detroit Ecumenical Choir group are requested to provide their names to the parish secretary as soon as possible. First choir practice is scheduled for Friday, Oct 25th.
Prayer Group and Sub-Organizations Elections
- Our annual church elections is planned for November. All prayer group and sub-organizations are requested to conduct elections for 2025 positions as soon as possible. Two notices of election are required. Please coordinate with our Vicar to set an election date
Edavaka Sangham List
- The 2024 Edavaka Sangham list which includes all parish members 18 years or older is published in the notice board. Please note the list is put in order by house number. All members are requested to review and please inform the Vicar or Secretary of any corrections.
Note from Trustees
- We thank all parish members for their participation and generous support during our Mar Thoma Fest and First Fruit Auction. We humbly request all members to submit their pending dues from the 2 events to the trustees. Thank you once again.
Refreshments
- Thanks to the refreshment committee for arranging today’s refreshments and Mr. Justin Jones for sponsoring
- Many families have not contributed this year for refreshments. Based on GB decision the minimum expected contribution is $100. Kindly requesting all families to submit their contribution as soon as possible to ensure the smooth functioning of refreshments distribution
