Condolences
- Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the sad demise of Mr. P C Chacko (76), brother of our member Mrs. Raichel Kurian on Monday, July 3rd in Wayanad, Kerala. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 4th. May our Almighty Lord grant the families strength and comfort them with His peace.

Leadership Conference
- Leadership Retreat will be held on Saturday July 15th at 10 am at the church. Rev. Sunil Chacko, Vicar of St. Mathews Mar Thoma Church Toronto will be the main speaker. All 2023 Executive Committee Members, Sub-organization office bearers, and Sub-Committee Conveners are welcome to the retreat. Those who are attending are requested to contact Secretary John Mathews
Mar Thoma Fest 2023
- Marthoma Fest 2023 will be held on the weekend of August 5th 2023. There is a sign-up sheet available now to participate in the cultural programs. Requesting parish members to please sign up by next Sunday July 9th so the cultural program practices can be coordinated accordingly. There is also a separate sign-up sheet to participate in the sports. Links will be included in the weekly announcements. For any questions regarding the cultural program or sign up please contact program conveners Mrs. Sarah Laby and Mrs. Sheena Mathews. Sunday School
- Graduation Sunday for 2023 high school graduates is RESCHEDULED to Sunday July 23rd.
Parents of high school student graduates are requested to contact SS superintendent Biju Mathews at 248-561-1053 for arrangements related to the dedication prayer.
- Midwest Regional Junior Camp 2023: Please note due to low participation from regional churches, it was decided to cancel 2023 Junior Camp. All registration fees will be reimbursed to those who already paid
Yuvajana Sakhyam

Sevika Sanghom
- Mid-West Regional Sevika Sanghom Prayer will be held on Thursday, July 13th, at 8:30 PM EST via Zoom. Message will be given by Rev. Abraham Sudeep Oommen, Program Coordinator at the Carmel Mar Thoma Center (Atlanta). All Sevika Sanghom members are requested to attend. Please send any prayer requests to Rev. Senior Fellowship
- Monthly Meeting of the Senior Fellowship will be held on Saturday July 22nd at 3:00 pm at the church. All senior members are requested to attend
Choir
- Choir voice test will be held on Sunday, July 30th after the worship service to add new members to both English and Malayalam choirs. Church members who are 12 years or older are eligible to participate in the voice test. Participants will be asked to sing one of the 2 assigned songs, and also a Song of their choice therefore a total of 2 songs per participants. Participants will have to sing Pallavi (Chorus) and one Anupallavi (Stanza) only for each song. Those who receive a minimum score of 40% will be selected.
Assigned Songs:
- English Choir – AG 55 (It is Well) and AG 50 (How Great Thou Art)
- Malayalam Choir – CH 354 (Ponneshu Thamburan), and CH 106 (Stuthicheeduvin)
Those who wish to participate in the voice test, please inform the Vicar or the Choir leaders Mrs. Suja George and Mr. Benjamin Mathew no later than July 27th 2023″. If You have any questions or concerns please contact the Vicar, or Choir Secretary.
