Condolences


  • Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the sad demise of Mrs. Annamma Abraham (72), sister of our member Mrs. Lilly Mathew (W/o of Mr. Mammen Mathew) on Monday December 19th in Kochi. May our Almighty Lord grant the family strength and comfort them with His peace. Let’s all stand for a moment of prayer…..

Worship Services


  • New Year Eve
    • 9:30 PM – Watch night service & Witnessing
    • 11:00 PM – Holy Qurbana Service in Malayalam
    • Please note there will be NO REGULAR SERVICE next Sunday January 1st, 2023
  • Sunday, January 8 
    • 10:15 AM – Holy Communion Service in English
    • 9 AM – Sunday School

 

  • We strongly encourage all members to follow COVID prevention measures when coming to the church:
    • Mask use is optional but encouraged
    • If you are Covid positive or have known exposure and experiencing symptoms, you are requested to stay home. You may return to church activities after 5 days of isolating
  • Thank you for your understanding and cooperation

Online Weekly Prayers


  • Intercessory Prayer on Wednesday at 7 PM (via Zoom)
  • Fasting prayer this Friday at 10:30 AM (via Zoom)

Ecumenical Christmas 2022


  • Detroit Ecumenical Council of Kerala Churches is celebrating Ecumenical Christmas 2022 on Friday December 30th at 7 pm at St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Church (17235 Mt. Vernon St. Southfield, MI 48075). Rev. Anurup Sam, vicar of CSI Congregation of Great Lakes will deliver the Christmas message. Christmas Carols and a variety of programs will be presented from member churches. All parish members are invited and encouraged to attend

Prayer Fellowships


  • Prayer Group 5 will have a prayer meeting today, Sunday, December 25th immediately after the service at the church. Election of Prayer Group 5 representative for the year 2023 will be held during the meeting. All prayer group members are requested to attend

Youth Group


  • The Midwest Regional Youth Conference will be held from tomorrow, December 26th to Thursday December 29th at Michindoh Conference Center in Hillsdale, MI. Jose Achen/Shyny Kochamma and youths from our parish are participating in the conference. Let’s pray are youths are blessed by the conference experience and have a safe journey to and from the conference center.

Sevika Sanghom


  • Monthly Meeting of the Sevika Sanghom will be held on Sunday, January 8th,after the service. Election of regional representative will be held during the meeting. All Sevika Sanghom members are requested to attend.

Edavaka Mission


  • Edavaka Mission is supporting multiple charity causes and is requesting financial support from members. The following are the charity requests:
    • Mar Thoma Mission project in Udumalpet. Goal: $800 or more
    • Punalur Boys Home Goal: $500 or more
    • Home Renovations for 3 Evangelists. Goal: $500 each or total $1500
    • Higher Education Support for son of Sihora Ashram worker. Goal: $500 or more

    Details of each charity request are posted in the notice board. All contributions should be made to the Detroit Mar Thoma Church with details of the desired charity. Thank you in advance for your support

Trustees Appeal


  • A friendly reminder to all members to submit their pending dues and any contributions for 2022 as soon as possible. The set amount for voluntary contribution for a family is $85 per month or $1020 annually. Additionally, each family is expected contribute annually towards the diocese to meet the diocese dues for our church. We thank all members for your wholehearted support thus far and we request your cooperation with these contributions so that we can close the financial year smoothly.
