Worship Services

  • Next Sunday – October 9
    • 10:15 AM – Holy Communion Service in English
    • 9 AM – Sunday School
  • We strongly encourage all members to follow COVID prevention measures when coming to the church:
    • Mask use is optional but encouraged
    • If you are Covid positive or have known exposure and experiencing symptoms, you are requested to stay home. You may return to church activities after 5 days of isolating
  • Thank you for your understanding and cooperation

Online Weekly Prayers

  • Intercessory Prayer on Wednesday at 7 PM (via Zoom)
  • Fasting prayer this Friday at 10:30 AM (via Zoom)

Prayer Fellowship

  • A combined prayer meeting of all Prayer Groups will be held this Saturday, October 8th, at 5:30 pm at the church hosted by Mr. K.K. George & family. All members are kindly requested to attend

Diocesan Reception of Metropolitan

  • The Diocese of North America & Europe is arranging a Public Reception to felicitate the Most Rev. Dr. Theodosius Mar Thoma Metropolitan on Sunday, October 9th, 2022 at 4:30 PM at the Long Island Mar Thoma Church (Merrick, New York). Live-streaming of this public meeting will be made available. Prayerful participation of all parish members is greatly appreciated.

Youth Group

  • All youth group members are encouraged to attend a meeting with the Metropolitan immediately after lunch today. This is a time to ask questions that you might have. If anyone needs a ride afterwards, please ask any youth committee member or older youth and accommodations will be made.
  • Next Saturday, October 8th, Bible Study at church at 1:30 pm. All youths are welcome to attend

  • Parent Youth Meeting - Fall 2022

Sunday School

  • Sunday School Teacher’s Meeting will be held next Sunday, October 9th at 5 pm via Zoom. Requesting all teachers to attend this meeting.
  • DMTC Sunday School is hosting the Midwest Regional Sunday School Fall Teachers’ Retreat virtually on Saturday, October 8th from 10 am – 12 pm (EST). Our main speaker is Dr. Leela Cherian. Theme for the retreat is: “Exploring intergenerational issues among the Mar Thoma Diaspora “. Vaccine Clinic: Flu Vaccine and Covid Booster

First Communicants

  • On behalf of the Parish we would like to once again congratulate our 11 First Communicants as they have entered in to full communal membership in our Church.We congratulate each and every one of them. May the Holy Spirit continue to teach and guide them as they continue in their faith journey. As a Parish let us continue to pray for these young believers and support them to uphold the oath that they have made before our Lord today. Let’s give them a round of applause.

Note on PayPal Contributions

  • On July 29th, 2022, PayPal updated its policies and now charges a fee for contributions to the church PayPal account submitted from a personal PayPal account. Members may still contribute through PayPal without being charged a fee using the PayPal Giving Fund of Detroit Mar Thoma Church. A link to the PayPal Giving fund is posted on the church website and will be sent in the weekly announcements.

  • Please note that when using the PayPal Giving Fund, members cannot designate the category of their contribution therefore once completing a transaction through PayPal Giving Fund, members must provide details to trustees so that contributions may be accounted properly.
  • Also please note this policy update only impacts contributions through PayPal. Contributions through Venmo are not affected currently. Thank you once again to all members for your wholehearted financial support for the smooth functioning of the parish.

Fellowship Meeting

  • We will immediately start our Fellowship Meeting. We request all members and guests to stay for the meeting and fellowship lunch afterwards.

Refreshments

  • Thanks to the first communicant families and refreshment committee for arranging today’s fellowship lunch
