- Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the sad demise of Mrs. Aleyamma Chacko (92), grandmother of our member Mr. Ashish Thomas, in Thiruvalla on Sunday July 17th. Funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 20th, in Kerala.
- Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the sad demise of Mrs. Mariamma Easow (87), mother of our member Mrs. Juby Abraham, in Keezhvaipur, Kerala on Monday July 18th. Joji and Juby arrived safely in Kerala and funeral service was held yesterday.
- Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the sad demise of Mrs. Achamma Jacob (77), sister of our member Mrs. Mary Cherian (Kunjumol) and H. G. the Most Rev. Dr. Theodosius Mar Thoma Metropolitan, on Thursday, July 21 in Trivandrum. Funeral service was held yesterday in Kottayam.May our Almighty Lord grant all the families strength and comfort them with His peace. Let’s all stand for a moment of prayer.

Church Picnic
- Yesterday we had our Church Picnic in Raintree Park in Troy, MI. Thanks to all those who led, coordinated, and helped with picnic arrangements. Thank you to all church members and guests for your participation. This year’s picnic would not have been a success without your presence.
Senior Fellowship
- Next meeting of the Senior Fellowship will be held on Saturday, July 30th at 3:00 pm at the church. All seniors are requested to attend.
Choir
- The 27th Mar Thoma Choir Festival is hosted by our church this year and will be conducted virtually on August 6th at 5 pm. The theme for the Choir Festival is Agape 2022 – The great love of God.Live Streaming link: https://youtu.be/kFmSYYtgynE
To make the program a blessing the Choir Festival committee warmly welcomes all the members of the Detroit Mar Thoma Church to attend the Choir Festival in-person at our church.
An evite invitation was sent to all church members for the Choir Festival to obtain a count of attendees. Please complete RSVP as soon as possible. If you have not received the invite, please contact Mrs. Sansu Mathai or Mrs. Sheena Mathews.

Yuvajana Sakhyam
- Mid-West Regional Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam Regional Conference and Kalamela-2022 is planned to be held on Saturday, September 23, 2022 at Detroit Mar Thoma Church. Regional conference will start at 9:00 AM. Rev. Ajith K. Thomas (Vicar of St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church, Chicago) is the chief guest and speaker. Theme for the conference is “Walking in the way of Christ” based on Colossians 1:10. Kalamela will start at 1:00 PM. Shakha with the most points will be awarded the Dona Alex Memorial Ever Rolling Trophy.To participate in the Kalamela-2022 on September 23rd,
- DMTC Yuvajana Sakhyam will have a Kalamela on Saturday, Aug 13th, 2022 at 4:30pm
- Requesting all Yuvajana Sakhyam members to participate and provide names if interested by Aug 7, 2022.

Mar Thoma Fest 2022
- As announced last week, Mar Thoma Fest 2022 will be held on Saturday August 20th, 2022 at the church. Cordially inviting all church members to participate and attend to make this event successful. Activities will include sports, painting competition, Bounce House for children, and Health & Wellness Promotion. Food stall with a variety of freshly made and delicious cuisine will be available at noon time and through the afternoon. Finally in the evening we will have a cultural program filled with songs, dance, skit, fashion show and other entertaining items. Preparation and planning is already underway.

Refreshments
- Thanks to the refreshment committee for arranging today’s refreshments. Special thanks to Mr. Mathew George (Joe) & Family for sponsoring. Again, a reminder we are requesting members to take refreshments and not to gather in the hall. Members may have their refreshments outdoors, weather permitting. For senior members the refreshment committee has arranged designated tables in the hall. Once entering the hall senior members are requested to take a seat at the designated tables and refreshments will be brought to them. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation
