Christmas Carol Rounding – 2025

  • We have started the Christmas Carol rounding from last week Friday and the last two days, it has been wonderful. Thanks to all the families who have welcomed the carolers to your home and treated us with lots of wonderful treats. Our new plan is also working very good. We were able to finish the carols before 10 PM every day, in fact it finished by 8:30 PM yesterday.

We will continue caroling today and will be the final day on the west side areas. Today we are planning to start at 2 PM from the church to the first house.

  • Next week we will be covering the east side homes:
    • Friday, Dec 12: Roseville/Warren/ Few Houses in Sterling Heights/Macomb/Shelby
    • Saturday, Dec-13: Sterling Heights
    • Sunday, Dec-14: Troy/Rochester Hills/Oakland Township

Christmas Carol Service

  • Our Christmas Carol Service is on Dec 20th Saturday at 5 PM. Fr. Wilson Antony Kandankary, vicar of the St. Thomas Syro Malabar Church will be our chief guest. We will also have representatives from Grace Centers Of Hope and Detroit Rescue Missions attending the service, the two charities that we selected for financial support from the Marthoma Fest  fund raising initiatives to receive the checks.

Like I announced last week, there is a big surprise gift to our parish from our vicar Santosh Achan and we invite everyone in our church to witness that during the Christmas Carol service. This is also a very special Christmas service as this is going to be his Christmas Carol service with us here in Detroit before he moves back to India. So I once again invite everyone for the Dec 20th Christmas Carol service.

  • Mar Thoma Theological Seminary Centenary Celebration- Fund raising : If you would like to donate towards the construction project, please send your checks to Trustee with memo as Theological Seminary fund collection
  • Another note from the Trustees, the Church doors (front and back) are unlocked during Sunday school, and worship service. Please do not prop the doors open, please keep them closed, this will enhance security for our church, as well as minimize maintenance concerns as we approach the colder weathers.

Refreshments

  • Our thanks to Mr. John Philipose & Diana John who sponsored today’s refreshments. Thanks to refreshment team for the arrangements
  • Note from the refreshment team:
    • Refreshments will be served for 30 minutes only and the cleanup will start after. Requesting every one to join the fellowship time as soon as we finish the benediction.
    • They are also requesting those who haven’t contributed to the annual refreshment fund to do so soon. The minimum expected is 100 dollars.
    • We also request everyone—kids and adults alike—to please dispose of used plates, cups, and glasses in the trash cans provided. Leaving them around the parish hall creates extra work for our volunteers, who already dedicate their time to arrange the refreshments, clean up all the plates, coffee makers and other vessels used in the refreshments and make the space ready for the next event. Let’s all do our part to keep the hall clean and reduce the burden on our volunteers and office bearers. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
