Today, we begin by extending our heartfelt wishes to all the fathers in our parish. Happy Father’s Day! We honor and celebrate you for the love, strength, and guidance you provide every day.
As we rejoice with those present, we also take a moment to remember and pay tribute to the fathers who are no longer with us. Their legacy lives on in our hearts, and we give thanks for the impact they made in our lives and in our community.
May this day be filled with love, reflection, and gratitude

- Note from the refreshment team:
- Refreshments will be served for 30 minutes only and the cleanup will start after. Requesting every one to join the fellowship time as soon as we finish the benediction.
- They are also requesting those who haven’t contributed to the annual refreshment fund to do so soon. The minimum expected is 100 dollars.
Visitors/Guests
- We want to welcome our special guests Rev. Jaims Thomas & Anitha Kochamma to our church. Achan doesn’t need much introduction in this parish, but for those who doesn’t know him, He is our former vicar. He is a native of Elippakkulam, which is very close to my native place of Kappil. His mother parish is Elippakulam St.Thomas Mar Thoma Church but his parent church is same as my home parish of Kappil St.Thomas Mar Thoma Church. He received his Kassissa ordination at Kappil St.Thomas Mar Thoma Church.
Achan was the first resident vicar of Detroit Mar Thoma Church from 94 April to 97 December. He gave significant contribution to the growth and development of our parish and the mar thoma community in Detroit. He worked tirelessly with limited resources to find a permanent home for our parish. He gave great leadership, brought and kept everyone together in finding a suitable place for our church, which we dearly call our second home. He was able to conduct the foundation laying ceremony at this site before he got transferred back to India.
Achan retired from active service after 39 years of service and just recently moved to Chicago to live with their daughters. They are blessed with 3 daughters, two of them in Chicago and one in Toronto.
With heart full of gratitude, we welcome you & Kochamma to our parish again. Thank you both for taking time to visit us and conduct the Holy Communion today.
We wish you a happy & great retirement and hope that your continued service even after retirement will be a blessing to the Mar Thoma Church.
Birthdays & Wedding Anniversaries
- We also have a special birthday today. We want to wish our dear Santosh achan a Happy Birthday. We pray that God continue to protect you and guide you in the new year. We have a special birthday cake arranged in the parish hall for celebrating achan’s birthday. Requesting everyone to join there to wish him
- DMTC Family wishes all our fellow members celebrating their Birthday and Wedding Anniversary this upcoming week. May the Almighty Lord bless each one of you and your family in the New Year and the years ahead.

Note about Security – Email/Phone Contacts from the church
- As we are all aware there are many security threats to our personal information in the modern age and unfortunately many ill-intended people try to access this information through underhanded methods. One of the common methods used are communication mediums such as e-mail or phone. We ask members to please take precaution when reviewing and responding to text messages and e-mails they receive including text messages/e-mails from church representatives. In regards to church emails our vicar (Santhosh Achen), secretary and trustees have specific church e-mail accounts: Vicar: vicar@detroitmarthoma.org or 248-792-1134 (Mobile) Secretary: sec@detroitmarthoma.org Trustees: trustees@detroitmarthoma.org. The Vicar, Secretary, and Trustees have their own personal e-mail which they rarely use to communicate parish related matters. If any member is suspicious or uncomfortable with a text message or email they have received from a church representative we ask that you do not respond and instead contact the church representative by phone or in -person. Also please note the Vicar or office bearers will NEVER ask for any personal information (ex. bank account or credit card number) or request for purchases to be made on their behalf via text message or email. We have recently been made aware of a scam e-mail that was sent out using the name of a church representative and therefore we are recommending appropriate precautions by parish members. If you have any further questions please contact the church office bearers.
