Regional Activity Committee
To all Clergy and Members of the Mar Thoma Parishes in the Mid-West region of the Diocese of North America.
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Praise the Lord!
Greetings to all in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
It is with great joy and gratitude that we are pleased to announce the formal start of the Midwest Regional Activities Committee (RAC), a significant milestone in fostering unity, collaboration, and spiritual growth within our region. This blessed occasion will be marked by the esteemed presence of our Metropolitan Bishop, the Most Rev. Dr. Theodosius Mar Thoma, who will officially inaugurate the RAC on Sunday, March 23, 2025, immediately following the Holy Qurbana service at the Chicago Mar Thoma Church.
The Midwest RAC aims to strengthen fellowship, promote regional initiatives, and enhance the effectiveness of our collective ministry. The RAC ad-hoc committee has taken preliminary steps toward the registration and formal establishment of this committee, ensuring that we move forward with a structured and sustainable foundation. We earnestly pray that this initiative will be fruitful for the spiritual growth of our churches, the advancement of our ministries, and the deepening of our relationships within the Midwest region.
We warmly invite all clergy and members of our parishes to attend this special event in person and be part of this historic moment. For those unable to join us physically, we encourage you to participate through our livestream.
Let us come together in faith and unity, seeking God’s guidance and blessings as we take this important step in strengthening our regional fellowship.
We look forward to your presence and participation on this blessed occasion. May God continue to guide and bless us all!
In His Service,
Dr. Joe George
RAC Ad-hoc Secretary

- Our request for team members for the Audio / Video / Live streaming / Website got great response. Thank you for all those have volunteered to join this team. We are still looking for few more team members for the Sound / Live stream. Looking for young adults who are interested in learning about audio / video systems and can support the Sunday services and other special events.
We are also planning to do a training session for the accounting software we using in the church, called NetSuite. If any adults who are interested in getting trained in that software, please let the secretary know so that we can add your name to the training session. As our Accountant Trustee Alan’s term is ending this year, we would like more people to get trained in that so that we will have the continuity and seamless transition.

Note about Security – Email/Phone Contacts from the church
- As we are all aware there are many security threats to our personal information in the modern age and unfortunately many ill-intended people try to access this information through underhanded methods. One of the common methods used are communication mediums such as e-mail or phone. We ask members to please take precaution when reviewing and responding to text messages and e-mails they receive including text messages/e-mails from church representatives. In regards to church emails our vicar (Santhosh Achen), secretary and trustees have specific church e-mail accounts: Vicar: vicar@detroitmarthoma.org or 248-792-1134 (Mobile) Secretary: sec@detroitmarthoma.org Trustees: trustees@detroitmarthoma.org. The Vicar, Secretary, and Trustees have their own personal e-mail which they rarely use to communicate parish related matters. If any member is suspicious or uncomfortable with a text message or email they have received from a church representative we ask that you do not respond and instead contact the church representative by phone or in -person. Also please note the Vicar or office bearers will NEVER ask for any personal information (ex. bank account or credit card number) or request for purchases to be made on their behalf via text message or email. We have recently been made aware of a scam e-mail that was sent out using the name of a church representative and therefore we are recommending appropriate precautions by parish members. If you have any further questions please contact the church office bearers.

We will do our very best to live stream all church events, however as this is dependent on trained volunteers, there may be technical interruptions and occasions where live streaming is not available. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
