Prayer Fellowship


  • Prayer group 4 will have a prayer meeting today, Sunday October 13th at 5:00 pm at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Thomas & Juby Abraham in Canton, MI (1946 Echo Woods Dr, Canton  MI 48188).  Election of prayer group 4 representative for the year 2025 will be held during this meeting.
  • Prayer group 5 will have a prayer meeting on Sunday October 20th at 5:30 pm at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Joseph & Daizen Chacko in Sterling Heights, MI (4129 Springbrook Dr. Sterling Heights, MI 48314). Election of prayer group 5 representative for the year 2025 will be held during this meeting.

Family & Tithe Sunday


  • Family Dedication and Tithe Sunday will be celebrated on Sunday Oct. 27th. Our former vicar Rev. Dr. Moni Mathew will be joining us and celebrating the Holy Communion. Theme for this Sunday is “Family: Celebration of Relationships”.  All families are requested to attend and to sit together for the worship service. Families are also requested to prayerfully prepare and bring their tithe offering. Please keep the Family & Tithe Sunday in your prayers.

Youth Group


  • There will be YG bible study this Saturday, October 19th at 1:30 pm at church; all youths are encouraged to attend and requested to bring your Bibles!
  • DMTC Merch has arrived! Orders are available in the fellowship hall after the service. Please find the youth group table and pick up your order. For households that placed multiple orders all items will be included in ONE bag. Thank you to all members for your heartfelt support!
  • Diocesan Leadership Conference hosted by our DMTC Youth Group will be held on January 2-5th, 2025. Our youths are seeking help in housing conference attendees and donations from members. Requesting prayers and support from our church members in the planning of DLC.

Edavaka Mission


  • Monthly meeting will be held on Saturday October 19th at 11:00 am at the church. All members are requested to attend

Choir


  • A choir voice test will be held on October 20th Sunday after worship service to add new members to both English and Malayalam choirs.. Parish members 12 years of age or above can participate in the voice test and are required to sing one of the 2 assigned songs selected by the judges and another song of their choice. Those who are interested in participating in the voice test please give your names to the choir leaders Mr. Philip Varghese or Ms. Emily Kuruvilla. Following are the songs assigned

Sevika Sanghom


  • The Sevika Sanghom General Body meeting will be held on Sunday October 20th, immediately following the service, during which the election of SS office bearers for 2025 will take place.
  • Suvishesha Sevika Sanghom Mid-West Region is hosting a one day retreat on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm at Detroit Mar Thoma Church. Theme: Women – Witnesses of the Gospel – St. Luke 8: 1-3 and Rev. Jaisen A. Thomas, Vicar of St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church, Lombard, Chicago will be the main speaker.This retreat marks the first since 2018, and we are anticipating the participation of over 150 participants from all across the Midwest region. It will be a day filled with spiritual enrichment, fellowship, and the chance to strengthen our community. With a thoughtfully planned schedule, we look forward to a truly blessed and inspiring time together.To ensure the retreat runs smoothly, we humbly ask for your prayers, support and participation. To help cover the expenses, we kindly request that all Women’s Ministry members, ladies aged 18 and older, contribute a minimum of $20. Your contribution will play a key role in making this event possible.Additionally, we are in need of volunteers to assist with various tasks. Please use the sign-up form below to register for the retreat and indicate how you might be able to help. Your time, support, and prayers will make a tremendous difference.   • There will be song practice today and next week for the video recording of the Christmas Carol Song for Diocesan SS Midwest region meeting.

Ecumenical Christmas Program


  • Detroit Ecumenical Council’s 30th Christmas Program will be conducted on Dec 29th, Sunday 5PM at in our Fellowship Hall. The Ecumenical Christmas Carol Choir will be part of the program, those who would like to sing and be part of the Detroit Ecumenical Choir group are requested to provide their names to the parish secretary as soon as possible. First choir practice is scheduled for Friday, Oct 25th.

Prayer Group and Sub-Organizations Elections


  • Our annual church elections is planned for November. All prayer group and sub-organizations are requested to conduct elections for 2025 positions as soon as possible. Two notices of election are required. Please coordinate with our Vicar to set a date

Edavaka Sangham List


  • The 2024 Edavaka Sangham list which includes all parish members 18 years or older is published in the notice board. Please note the list is put in order by house number.  All members are requested to review and please inform the Vicar or Secretary of any corrections.

Purchase of Vehicle for Vicar


  • For member’s information our auto insurance determined that our Vicar’s previous vehicle was not repairable therefore the trustees opted to receive financial compensation for damaged vehicle. With this and available fund in our church auto fund we completed purchase of 2023 Honda CR-V for our Vicar this past week. We thank the Executive Committee and particularly our Trustees for identifying and completing the purchase in a timely manner.

  • We thank all parish members for their participation and generous support during our Mar Thoma Fest and First Fruit Auction. We humbly request all members to submit their pending dues from the 2 events to the trustees. Thank you once again.

Refreshments


  • Thanks to the refreshment committee for arranging today’s refreshments and Mrs. Aleyamma Parekh for sponsoring
  • Many families have not contributed this year for refreshments. Based on GB decision the minimum expected contribution is $100. Kindly requesting all families to submit their contribution as soon as possible to ensure the smooth functioning of refreshments distribution

We will do our very best to live stream all church events, however as this is dependent on trained volunteers, there may be technical interruptions and occasions where live streaming is not available. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

  • Zeffy is a user-friendly platform for not-for-profit organizations that allows for one-time and reoccurring monthly contributions with a no transaction fee option. Contributions can be made with credit card, bank account, Apple or Google pay. We strongly encourage all members to utilize Zeffy for electronic payments. Our Trustees want to thank all the members who have utilized this method as this streamlines the financial activities of the parish.
