Prayer Fellowships
- Prayer Group 1 will have a prayer meeting on Sunday, September 22nd at 4:30 pm at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Thomson and Sarasu David in Livonia, MI (31787 Clarita Ave. Livonia MI 48152). All members are requested to join.
Parish Convention – 2024
- Our Parish Convention-2024 will be held from Friday September 27th to Sunday September 29th at our church. Theme for the convention is ” Discipleship: The celebration of life in its abundance” based on John 13:34-35. Dr. Baby Sam Samuel, member from St. John’s Mar Thoma Church – New York will be the guest speaker. Convention Date/Time are as follows:

- Friday Sept. 27th @ 7:00 PM
- Saturday, Sept. 28th @ 6:30 pm
- Sunday, Sept. 29th, concluding session after the worship service.
Requesting prayerful participation from all members. If any parish members require transportation to the church for convention, please contact area prayer group leaders or the Secretary

Youth Group
- There will be YG bible study this Saturday, September 21st at 1:30 pm at the church. Encourage all youths to attend.
- St. John’s Mar Thoma Church Youth Fellowship is having a Youth Group Revival meeting on Saturday September 21st at 4:00 pm at SJMTC. Guest speaker for the meeting is our very own Mr. Shane Thomas. All our youths are invited and encouraged to participate.
Edavaka Mission and Senior Fellowship
- There will be a combined meeting of the Edavaka Mission and Senior Fellowship on Saturday, September 21st, at 11:00 am at the church. All members are requested to join
Sevika Sanghom
- Suvishesha Sevika Sanghom Mid-West Region is hosting a one day retreat on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm at Detroit Mar Thoma Church. Theme: Women – Witnesses of the Gospel – St. Luke 8: 1-3 and Rev. Jaisen A. Thomas, Vicar of St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church, Lombard, Chicago will be the main speaker. Please uphold this retreat in your prayers and encouraging all Sevika Sanghom members to attend.
Marthoma Messenger Month
- The Mar Thoma Messenger is the official publication of the Diocese of North America of the Mar Thoma Church. It is published every quarter and has been in circulation for the last 42 Years. In addition to relevant news from around the Diocese, the Messenger contains Bible Studies and articles related to the faith and practices of the Church and contemporary trends in society. Subscribing and reading will help our parish families to learn and grow by connecting to the various churches, congregations, mission fields in our Diocese and all mission activities.
The Diocese is celebrating the month of September as the Messenger month. Sunday, September 29, 2024 is set apart as Messenger Sunday. The Diocese is requesting all the members to become a subscriber of the messenger.
The subscription rates are:
- 3 years – $ 35.00
- 6 years – $ 70.00
- Life Subscription – $ 300.00

St. John’s Parish Convention
- St John’s MTC has invited our parish for their convention on Friday September 20th to Sunday September 22nd at St. John’s MTC. The speaker for this year is Evg. Samuel T Chacko (Saji Ranny). The convention will begin at 6:30pm on Friday and Saturday and conclude after the service on Sunday at Evanswood Church. Please see attached flyer for details.
Onam Sadhya
- Onam Sadhya scheduled for Sunday Sept 15th 2024 will be postponed. Further details will be provided later.
Note from Trustees
- We thank all parish members for their participation and generous support during our Mar Thoma Fest and First Fruit Auction. We humbly request all members to submit their pending dues from the 2 events to the trustees. Thank you once again.
Update Regarding Santhosh Achen
- Funeral services for late Mrs. Chinnamma Chacko. mother of our Santhosh Achen, was conducted peacefully by God’s grace this past week. Santhosh Achen is preparing for his return journey to Detroit and is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday, September 18th, evening. Let’s continue to remember Achen and family and pray for Achen’s safe journey back.
At this time we sincerely thank our Senior Achens, Rev. P. Chacko and Rev. Philip Varughese for their leadership and support in our parish services and activities on such short notice. We praise and thank God for strengthening them to continue to do His service.

Refreshments
- Thanks to the refreshment committee for arranging today’s refreshments and thanks to Mr. & Mrs. George and Anuja Chacko for sponsoring.
- Many families have not contributed this year for refreshments. Based on GB decision the minimum expected contribution is $100. Kindly requesting all families to submit their contribution as soon as possible to ensure the smooth functioning of refreshments distribution
