Prayer Fellowship


  • Prayer Group #4 will have a prayer meeting today Sunday July 21st at 5 pm at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Abraham Varughese in Plymouth, MI (49595 Winslow Plymouth, MI 48170). All prayer group members are requested to join

Mar Thoma Fest


  • Our Mar Thoma Fest 2024 will be held on the weekend of Saturday August 17th, 2024 Cordially inviting all church members to participate and attend. Activities will include sports, painting competition, Health & Wellness Screening and Seminar and cultural program. Food stalls will be available Saturday, Aug. 17th, afternoon and for the first time we will have a cooking contest as well.Cultural Program

    Those interested to participate in the cultural program on Saturday August 17th is requested to contact convenor, Ms. Evangeline John.  Potential events may include group or solo songs, dances, instrumental renditions, poetry, comedy routines, drama etc.

    Sports Tournaments

    The following sports tournaments have been scheduled for Mar Thoma Fest

    • Table Tennis – Sunday, August 4th after service
    • Women’s Doubles Pickleball – Monday, August 12th
    • Men’s Doubles Pickleball – Tuesday, August 13th
    • 6v6 Volleyball – Friday Evening August 16th
    • 4v4 Basketball – Saturday Morning August 17th

    To participate in the Table Tennis or Pickleball Tournaments please register online by July 27th. Registration fee for these tournaments will be $10 per person per event.

    To participate in the Volleyball or Basketball Tournament please register online by August 4th. Registration fee for these tournaments is by team, for volleyball $60 per team and for basketball $40 per team.

    Cooking Contest

    As mentioned a cooking contest is being planned for the first time during Marthoma Fest this year. All contestants will be cooking a single dish. For this year’s inaugural event the competition dish will be chicken curry. We like to welcome all our wonderful chefs, male or female, junior or senior members to participate and put their culinary skills on display, there will no registration cost for cooking contestants. The winner of the contest will have their name inscribed on a new ever-rolling trophy. Those interested to be a contestant are requested to contact convenors Mr. Shawn Thomas or Mr. Runcie Chacko.

    General Information: We welcome all our talented church members who would like to put their homemade Arts and Crafts or designed items on display or for sale please contact conveners Mr. Shawn Thomas or Mr. Runcie Chacko by Sunday, August 4th. Also we are extending an invitation to our sister communion churches within the area (St. John’s Mar Thoma Church and CSI Congregation of Great Lakes) to attend the Mar Thoma Fest and participate in the sports tournaments and painting competition. Please keep this year’s Marthoma Fest and all the arrangements in your prayers

Choir


  • 28th Marthoma Choir Festival: St. Mathews Mar Thoma Church, Toronto is very pleased to host the 28th Mar Thoma Choir Festival on Saturday, July 27th 2024 at 4:00 pm EST. The program will be held at the church. St. Mathews MTC is extending an invitation to our parish, all members our welcome to participate.

Sevika Sanghom


  • Diocesan Sevika Sanghom will be hosting a special prayer meeting on July 25, Thursday at 8:00 PM ET via zoom. The meeting will include testimonies shared by various members of the Sevika Sanghom. Diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Mar Paulos Episcopa will preside over the meeting. Senior Fellowship


  • Monthly meeting of the Senior Fellowship will be held on Saturday, July 27th at 11 am at the church. All senior members are requested to join.

Yuvajana Sakhyam


  • Yuvajana Sakhyam is planning a Volunteering event at Forgotten Harvest in Oak Park, MI on July 27th from 9am to 12pm. This event involves packing of emergency food box and re-packing and sorting fresh food that will be distributed through Wayne, Macomb and Oakland County to those in need. The event is open for a set of 25 people. Forgotten Harvest: 15000 W. 8 Mile Rd Oakpark, MI 48237. Registration link will be sent separately by Yuvajana Sakhyam coordinators.   • The 22nd Diocesan Yuvajana Sakhyam Conference will be hosted by The Mar Thoma Church of Dallas Farmers Branch Yuvajana Sakhyam. The conference will take place from September 26th to 29th, 2024, at The Mar Thoma Church of Dallas Farmers Branch. More information about the conference, including registration details, can be found on the conference website: https://www.ysconf2024.org. Encouraging all Sakha members and senior yuvajana sakhyam friends to register for the conference at the earliest. Registration deadline is August 31, 2024. Request everyone to uphold the conference in your prayers for its success and spiritual enrichment.

Edavaka Mission


  • Edavaka Mission is supporting multiple charity causes and is requesting financial support from members. The following are the charity causes:
    • Udumalpet Mission: School Kits (Target – /$1000)
    • Punalur Boys Home (Target – /$800)
    • Marriage aid for family in Chettikulangara, Alapuzha, Kerala. Target – /$1,220)

    All contributions should be made to the Detroit Mar Thoma Church with details of the desired charity. Thank you in advance for your support.

We will do our very best to live stream all church events, however as this is dependent on trained volunteers, there may be technical interruptions and occasions where live streaming is not available. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
