New Vicar’s Arrival
- By God’s grace Santhosh Achen & family’s visa was approved last Tuesday. Travel arrangements have been made. Achen and family will be arriving in Detroit this Friday, May 12th at midnight. All members are welcome to come to the airport to receive Achen and family, flight information below:American Airlines Flight# QR 2383 (Please check arrival time beforehand)
If planning to join, please inform the Secretary as soon as possible. God willing Achen will conduct the Holy Communion Service next Sunday, May 14th, and we will have a short welcome program after the worship service.
Let us continue to keep Santhosh Achen & family in our prayers as they prepare for their travel and transfer.

Sunday School
- VBS 2023 – Please save the date for VBS 2023VBS will be held from June 19th to the 24th at the church. Join us as we put on the Armor of God with this year’s theme “Keepers of the Kingdom”. Registration will start today after service in the hall and is also available online. Registration fee is $10 per child and maximum of $30 for family. Those who are interested in teaching/volunteering are also requested to sign up at the registration table in the hall or online. VBS website below:
Youth Group
- Bible Study: There will be bible study this Saturday May 13th at 1:30 pm
- Youth Group Weekend will be held from May 26th – 28th. This year’s theme is unplug and recharge based on Matthew 11:28 “come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” YG weekend will begin on Friday, May 26th, with Friday Night Sing at 6pm at the church. Further details regarding YG weekend will be provided later.
- The Chicago Mar Thoma Church Youth Group will be hosting the 5th Annual Midwest Sports Tournament starting on Friday, June 9th and concluding on Saturday, June 10th. Tournament will take place at the Centre of Elgin located at 100 Symphony Way, Elgin, IL 60120. Woman’s Volleyball Tournament will start on Friday and end on Saturday and Men’s Basketball Tournament will start and end on Saturday.Sports Tournament Team Details:
1) Men’s Basketball
$200/team
10 players/team
2) Women’s Volleyball
$150/team
10 players/team
Registration links will be provided in the youth group e-mail announcements. Registration Deadline for the tournament is May 28. All tournament participants and attendees are also welcome to participate in the Holy Communion Service on Sunday, June 11th at the Chicago Mar Thoma Church
- This year’s Urban Missions Trip will be held in Chicago, IL, from July 17-20, 2023. The trip is open to all Mar Thoma members over the age of 18. Registration for this trip will be $250 per person, however the Diocese will give grants to individuals to make this trip affordable.Registration links will be provided in the youth group e-mail announcements. Registration deadline will be May 15, 2023. Please note attendees will be notified of approval for this trip via e-mail and then only is registration complete.

- The 44th Diocesan Youth Fellowship Conference will be held on July 20-23, 2023 at the campus of Trinity International University located in the suburbs of Chicago, IL hosted by St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church of Chicago.The DYFC 2023 Convening Committee (St. Thomas MTC Chicago) wholeheartedly welcomes and invites the youths of our parish to the conference. Registration is open now until June 28. Registration cost is $200. Please see the conference website to register:

Sevika Sanghom
- Thank you to all members and mothers who attended the Sevika Sanghom meeting and Mother’s Day Lunch yesterday. It was a blessed event. We had a gracious parish member sponsor the entire event yesterday therefore no funds will be collected from the attendees. Once again thank you all for your participation.
- Mid-West Regional Sevika Sanghom Prayer will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 8:00 PM EST via Zoom. Message will be given by Rev. Bijoy John, Vicar of Mar Thoma Church of Los Angeles.
