Condolence
- Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the sad demise of our former member Mr. John Thomas (Joy) (83), brother-in-law of our member Mrs. Susamma Philip and uncle of our member Mr. John Lessly Thomas on Friday, October 28th. Funeral will be held on Saturday November 5thin Livonia, MI. May our Almighty Lord grant the family strength and comfort them with His peace.

Worship Services

- Intercessory Prayer on Wednesday at 7 PM (via Zoom)
- Widows Prayer on Thursday at 11 AM (via Zoom)
- Fasting prayer this Friday at 10:30 AM (via Zoom)
Prayer Fellowship
- Prayer Group 4 will have a prayer meeting on Sunday, November 6th at 5:00 pm at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Varghese in Canton, MI. 565 Buckingham Canton, MI 48188. Election of Prayer Group 4 representative for the year 2023 will be held during the meeting. All prayer group members are requested to attend.
Church Fall Cleaning
- Church Fall Cleaning is scheduled for next Sunday, November 6th after the worship service. All members are requested to participate to help clean the landscape and other areas on the church property. For those planning to attend please bring proper attire, outdoor working gloves and available outdoor tools and equipment including rakes, shovels, and leaf blowers. Food will be provided afterwards.
Sunday School
- Sunday School Christmas Carol Program practices will continue today Sunday, October 30th after the lunch. There will also be 2 practice sessions next weekend:- Saturday, November 5th at 10 am at the church
– Sunday, November 6th after service at the church
We encourage all Sunday School students to come and participate!
Yuvajana Sakhyam
- Monthly meeting of the Yuvajana Sakhyam will be held on Saturday November 12th at the church at 5:30pm. Election of office bearers for the year 2023 will be held during the meeting.
- Yuvajana Sakhyam membership drive is due by Sunday Nov 13th, 2022. Eligible church family members ages between 12 to 45 are requested share your names to YS secretary, Stanley Samuel. Membership fee is $5 for registering members to our Diocese and Kendra Yuvajana Sakhyam.
Sevika Sanghom
- Monthly Meeting of the Sevika Sanghom will be held on Sunday, November 13th, after the service. Election of office bearers for the year 2023 will be held during the meeting. All Sevika Sanghom members are requested to attend
Christmas Carol Rounding
- This year’s Christmas Carol Rounding is scheduled for 2 weekends, Dec. 3rd, 4th, 10th, and 11th. The carol rounding group is planning to visit all parish families. Those families who prefer the Carol Rounding group NOT to visit their homes are requested to inform their area prayer group leaders as soon as possible so that proper arrangements can be made.
Church Organizations & Area Prayer Groups
- All church organizations and area prayer groups are requested to elect their representatives to the executive committee before November 20th and inform the name of the representatives to the Vicar or Parish Secretary.
Request from Trustees – Pending Dues
- As announced last week Trustees are requesting members who have pending dues from First Fruit Auction and food purchases from Mar Thoma Fest to submit dues as soon as possible so that accounts for the respective events can be closed. We appreciate your cooperation
Note on PayPal Contributions
- On July 29th, 2022, PayPal updated its policies and now charges a fee for contributions to the church PayPal account submitted from a personal PayPal account. Members may still contribute through PayPal without being charged a fee using the PayPal Giving Fund of Detroit Mar Thoma Church. A link to the PayPal Giving fund is posted on the church website and will be sent in the weekly announcements.

- Please note that when using the PayPal Giving Fund, members cannot designate the category of their contribution therefore once completing a transaction through PayPal Giving Fund, members must provide details to trustees so that contributions may be accounted properly.
- Also please note this policy update only impacts contributions through PayPal. Contributions through Venmo are not affected currently. Thank you once again to all members for your wholehearted financial support for the smooth functioning of the parish.
