MEDIA & TECHNOLOGY
The Media and Technology Ministry continues to play a vital role in supporting the worship, communication, and outreach efforts of our parish. Through the dedication of our volunteers and the guidance of God Almighty, this ministry has grown significantly over the past year, both in its capabilities and in the number of members serving across its various teams.
Live Stream Team
Our Live Stream Team has faithfully ensured that every Sunday worship service, along with special services and events, is broadcast with clarity and reliability. This ministry has been a tremendous blessing to parishioners who are homebound, traveling, or living far away, enabling them to remain connected to the worship life of our church.
Website and Mobile App Team
The Website and Mobile App Team has continued to maintain and update our parish website and mobile application, ensuring that information remains accurate, accessible, and user-friendly. Their efforts help members and visitors stay informed about upcoming events, worship schedules, and ministry activities. Work is currently underway to redesign the website using a new template, and the team continues to make steady progress toward this goal.
We extend our sincere thanks to Mr. Sujeev Cherian for his leadership and dedication in guiding both the Livestream and Website Teams.
Audio Team
The Audio Team has consistently provided sound support for all worship services and parish events. Their behind-the-scenes efforts ensure that every sermon, prayer, song, and announcement is heard clearly, greatly enhancing the worship experience for the congregation.
We sincerely thank Mr. Sandeep George for his faithful leadership of the Audio Team.
Support for Special Services and Events
In addition to weekly worship services, the Media and Technology Ministry has provided essential technical support during funerals, weddings, baptisms, conventions, and other special events. Their service during these important occasions has helped families and the congregation participate meaningfully and without interruption.
Accounting System Modernization
We also continued efforts to modernize the parish accounting system, enabling easier tracking and maintenance of accounts and bookkeeping, while also providing members with the ability to contribute online through Zeffy. These improvements have enhanced efficiency, accessibility, and transparency in parish financial management.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our Trustee-Accountant, Mr. Alan Thomas, for his efforts and leadership in supporting the modernization of the accounting system.
This year, we were also blessed to welcome and train many new volunteers across all teams within the ministry. Their enthusiasm, willingness to serve, and commitment have strengthened the ministry and helped ensure that responsibilities are shared with joy and dedication.
We are deeply grateful to every individual who has stepped forward to offer their time, talents, and service to this important ministry.
Medical Team
The DMTC Medical Team continued to play an important role in supporting the health and safety of parish members by being readily available to assist with medical emergencies during church services and
events.
The Medical Team continued to play an important role in supporting the health, safety, and well-being of the Detroit Mar Thoma Church congregation throughout 2025. Through its commitment to emergency preparedness, health education, and wellness promotion, the team provided valuable support during parish worship services, fellowship gatherings, and special events.
Throughout the year, team members remained available to respond to first aid and medical needs during church activities, ensuring that parishioners received timely care and assistance whenever required. The team also maintained and replenished first aid supplies and medical equipment, helping to ensure readiness for emergencies and the safe conduct of parish events.
In addition to emergency support, the Medical Team actively promoted health awareness and preventive care through educational and wellness initiatives. Programs conducted during the year included hands-on health and safety training, wellness activities encouraging physical fitness, and community health services that provided parishioners with convenient access to preventive healthcare resources.
By combining compassionate service with health education and preparedness, the Medical Team contributed significantly to creating a safe, supportive, and health-conscious environment within the parish. The ministry remains dedicated to fostering wellness and providing care for the congregation as part of the church’s broader mission of service and fellowship.
The parish extends its sincere appreciation to all members of the Medical Team for their dedication, professionalism, and faithful service throughout the year. Special gratitude is extended to Mrs. Mini Varughese for her leadership and commitment in coordinating the ministry and guiding its efforts in support of the parish community.
Refreshment Team
“God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the
love you have shown him as you have helped his people
and continue to help them.” – Hebrews 6:10
The Refreshment Committee faithfully served the Detroit Mar Thoma Church congregation throughout 2025 by fostering fellowship, hospitality, and community through the provision of refreshments during parish gatherings and special events. Through its dedicated efforts, the committee helped create welcoming opportunities for parishioners to connect, build relationships, and strengthen the bonds of Christian fellowship beyond the worship service.
In addition to coordinating refreshments following weekly Sunday worship services, the committee supported numerous parish events and special occasions throughout the year. Their service contributed to creating an atmosphere of warmth, care, and hospitality during celebrations, conferences, fellowship gatherings, memorial services, and other significant church activities.
The ministry plays an important role in nurturing a sense of belonging within the parish by bringing members together around shared meals and fellowship. Through thoughtful planning, teamwork, and volunteer support, the committee continues to enhance the overall parish experience and promote meaningful interactions among members of all ages.
The parish is grateful for the dedication and faithful service of the Refreshment Committee and its volunteers, whose efforts contribute significantly to the welcoming spirit of our church community. Special appreciation is extended to Mr. Samji Koshy for his leadership and coordination of the ministry, as well as to the many sponsors, volunteers, clergy, and parish leaders whose support made the committee’s work possible throughout the year.
Sports and Recreation
The Sports & Recreation Ministry completed another successful year in 2025, continuing its mission of promoting health, wellness, fellowship, and community engagement within the parish. Through a variety of recreational and fitness activities, the ministry provided opportunities for parishioners of all ages to remain physically active while building meaningful relationships and strengthening the bonds of Christian fellowship.
Throughout the year, the ministry organized regular recreational programs that encouraged participation from children, youth, adults, and seniors alike. These activities fostered an inclusive and welcoming environment where members could enjoy physical activity, develop friendships, and experience a strong sense of community. By bringing together individuals and families across generations, the ministry has continued to play an important role in promoting unity and fellowship within the parish.
The ministry also supported major parish events by organizing and coordinating various sports and recreational competitions, providing opportunities for friendly competition, teamwork, and community involvement. Growing participation in these activities reflects the ministry’s ongoing success in encouraging healthy lifestyles while creating enjoyable experiences for parish members.
The Sports & Recreation Ministry remains grateful for the support of the clergy, Executive Committee, volunteers, and parish members whose encouragement and participation have contributed to its continued growth and success. Through their dedication and teamwork, the ministry continues to serve as a valuable avenue for fellowship, wellness, and community building within the life of the church.
The parish extends its sincere appreciation to Mr. George Chacko (Bapu) for his leadership and commitment to the ministry, as well as to all volunteers and organizers whose efforts helped make the year’s programs and events both successful and impactful.
