The faith of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church is centered on Jesus Christ, grounded in the Bible, rooted in the ancient apostolic tradition of St. Thomas Christians, and shaped by Reformed Christian teachings emphasizing worship, prayer, service, and sharing Christ’s love with the world.

  •  “It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Mr. M.T. Thomas, father of our member Mr. Lessly Thomas, who passed away in Kerala on Friday, June 19. He was a member of Uthimoodu Mar Thoma Church. The funeral service will be held at his residence on Thursday, June 25 at 12:30 PM, followed by the service at Uthimoodu Mar Thoma Church at 2:00 PM.
  • We also remember Mr. K.A. Oommen, father of Mrs. Jessy Philip and grandfather of Mrs. Jini Abraham, who passed away on June 20 in Kerala. His funeral service was held yesterday at North Madras Mar Thoma Church.
  • We further remember the family of Mr. Kurian Abraham. His viewing was held in Virginia, and he will be taken to Kerala for final burial.

 

Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our heartfelt condolences to all the grieving families. On this Father’s Day, we pray that God grants them peace, comfort, and strength during this difficult time.”

Prayer group 4 will have a prayer meeting at the residence of Mathew George (Joe) and Suja’s house on June 28th at 5 PM. Their address is 50512 Woodford Dr, Canton, MI 48188. All prayer group 4 members are requested to attend this meeting

  • There will be no Sunday School from next Sunday onwards. Wishing all Sunday school kids and teachers a very happy and joyous vacation time. Sunday school will start back in September.
  • Midwest Region Sunday School Junior Camp is July 31-August 1, and we encourage all 3rd-10th graders to participate. Please reach out to Dr. Suma Thomas if you have any questions.

Jobin Achen will be visiting Prayer Group 4  this week. Requesting all prayer group 4 members to open up their homes and schedule a visit of Achen working with your prayer group leader Mrs. Suja George

There will be an Edavaka Mission prayer meeting at the church on Saturday, July 4, 2026 at 10:30 AM in the morning. All EM members are requested to attend this meeting
