Young Families Fellowship

The year 2025 marked a significant milestone for the Detroit Mar Thoma Church with the formal establishment of the Young Families Fellowship (YFF). Created to address the unique spiritual, relational, and cultural needs of second-generation adults, young couples, and families, the fellowship serves as a ministry that supports members as they navigate life, faith, and family within a multicultural context while remaining rooted in Christian values and the rich heritage of the Mar Thoma Church.

Since its inception, YFF has provided a welcoming environment for worship, biblical reflection, prayer, fellowship, and meaningful discussion. Regular gatherings have fostered spiritual growth, mutual encouragement, and strong relationships among participants, helping to build a vibrant community of faith within the parish. By the end of its inaugural year, the fellowship had grown to include more than thirty actively participating adults and families.

The establishment and early growth of YFF reflect the parish’s ongoing commitment to nurturing every generation and creating opportunities for meaningful engagement in the life of the Church. Through its meetings and activities, the fellowship seeks to strengthen families, encourage discipleship, and cultivate a supportive network grounded in faith and fellowship.

The Young Families Fellowship is grateful for the encouragement and support of the parish leadership, clergy, Executive Committee, and members who have helped guide and nurture this new ministry. As it looks ahead, YFF remains committed to growing as a Christ-centered community that equips and encourages young families to serve God, support one another, and contribute meaningfully to the mission and ministry of the parish.
