But as we get\u00a0 older, the practice of memorizing scripture gets stored\u00a0 away like those trophies in shelves for display.\u00a0 Just as Prayer is seen as an important discipline and\u00a0 practice, memorization of scripture should be placed\u00a0 with just as much importance. Jesus used scripture\u00a0 many times, most noticeably in Matthew 4:1-11 to fight\u00a0 off temptation against Satan. It plays a key role in\u00a0 Sanctification for renewing our minds and becoming\u00a0 more aligned with God\u2019s Will (Romans 12:2, Psalms\u00a0 40:8).\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many of us can recite popular songs, TV show lines,\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">quotes etc. But how much of God\u2019s Word can we cite\u00a0 back?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Start with memorizing one verse this week, and build\u00a0 up from there (Psalms 119:11 is a good start).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>CLOSING PRAYER\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Father God, forgive us for forgetting Your Word and\u00a0 not placing importance on keeping scripture to heart\u00a0 and mind. Help us to make it a normal practice and\u00a0 use Your Word just as Christ did.
