Activities will include sports, painting competition, Health &amp; Wellness Screening and Seminar and cultural program. Food stalls will be available Saturday, Aug. 17<sup>th<\/sup>, afternoon and for the first time we will have a cooking contest as well.\n<p><strong><u>Cultural Program<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Those interested to participate in the cultural program on Saturday August 17<sup>th<\/sup> is requested to contact convenor, Ms. Evangeline John. \u00a0Potential events may include group or solo songs, dances, instrumental renditions, poetry, skit comedy routines, drama etc.<\/p>\n<p>Those interested to participate in the Fashion Show, please sign-up using the following link: <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/KQhMVX4rX7Az99M59\">2024 Mar Thoma Fest Fashion Show Sign-up<\/a>. \u00a0All ages are welcome.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Sports Tournaments<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The following sports tournaments have been scheduled for Mar Thoma Fest<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Table Tennis &#8211; Sunday, August 4<sup>th<\/sup> after service<\/li>\n<li>Women\u2019s Doubles Pickleball \u2013 Monday, August 12<sup>th<\/sup><\/li>\n<li>Men\u2019s Doubles Pickleball \u2013 Tuesday, August 13<sup>th<\/sup><\/li>\n<li>6v6 Volleyball \u2013 Friday Evening August 16<sup>th<\/sup><\/li>\n<li>4v4 Basketball \u2013 Saturday Morning August 17<sup>th<\/sup><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Registration for Women\u2019s Doubles Pickleball is extended to Sunday August 4<sup>th<\/sup>. Registration fee for these tournaments will be $10 per person per event.<\/p>\n<p>To participate in the Volleyball or Basketball Tournament please register online by August 4<sup>th<\/sup>. Registration fee for these tournaments is by team, for volleyball $60 per team and for basketball $40 per team.<\/p>\n<p>For more details and to register use the online link: <a href=\"https:\/\/detroitmarthoma.org\/main\/2022\/08\/03\/mar-thoma-fest-2024\/\">2024 Mar Thoma Fest Sports Tournament Details and Registration<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Painting Competition<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Painting competition will take place on Saturday, August 17<sup>th<\/sup>, from 2 to 4 pm.<\/p>\n<p>AGE GROUPS<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sub-Juniors: Children up to 2nd grade (Crayon coloring)<\/li>\n<li>Juniors: 3rd \u2013 6th grade (Watercolor)<\/li>\n<li>Seniors: 7th \u2013 12th grade (Watercolor)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Registration is $5 and <strong>participants are requested to bring their own crayons and water colors.<\/strong> Theme for the painting will be provided on the day of the painting competition. All contestants will be cooking a single dish. For this year\u2019s inaugural event the competition dish will be chicken curry. We like to welcome all our wonderful chefs, male or female, junior or senior members to participate and put their culinary skills on display, there will no registration cost for cooking contestants. The winner of the contest will have their name inscribed on a new ever-rolling trophy.
