Requesting all Senior Fellowship members to attend.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"background-color: #eae7e7;\">First Fruit Auction<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li>We will be celebrating the harvest season with our annual <strong>First Fruit Auction next Sunday August 27<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong> immediately after the worship service. Auctions items this year include a variety of organic homegrown vegetables, delicious cooked\/nadan items such as Kappa\/ beef curry and fish fry and freshly made baked\/dessert items such as cutlets, achappam, cakes, cookies, cake pops and many others. The coordinators are still requesting and welcoming more items from parish members for the auction. Items may include fruits, vegetables, cooked items, baked items, crafted items etc. Please avoid any clothing items. If bringing an item for the Auction kindly requested to bring to the church by 9:30 am.The funds raised from the auction will primarily support the many ongoing expenses of the church and a portion of the funds will be set apart to support charity causes locally and in India. All members are requested to wholeheartedly participate in the auction prayerfully and generously. For more information, please contact the coordinators Mrs. Reena Philip and Mr. Runcie Chacko. Please note: Next Sunday, church refreshments will be served during First Fruit Auction to encourage participation, thank you for your cooperation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"background-color: #eae7e7;\">Sevika Sanghom<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Monthly meeting <\/strong>of the Sevika Sanghom meeting will be held on Saturday, Sept. 2nd at 11 am at the church. Will be continuing in the study of Jude and having other activities as well. All Sevika Sanghom members are requested to attend.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sevika Sanghom Day<\/strong> will be observed on Sunday, September 10<sup>th<\/sup>. A special song is being arranged and all Sevika Sanghom members are requested to meet today after the service for song practice.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sevika Sanghom regional meeting<\/strong> will be held on Saturday September 30<sup>th<\/sup> at Chicago Mar Thoma Church from 9:30 am \u2013 3:30 pm CST. Rev. Ajith K. Thomas, Vicar of STMTC (Lombard, IL) will be the main speaker. Transportation arrangements from Detroit to Chicago are being arranged for the regional meeting, if interested please contact Mrs. Reena Philip or Mrs. Manju Chacko as soon as possible<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"background-color: #eae7e7;\">Sunday School<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sunday School classes<\/strong> for the new year will start on Sunday, September 3<sup>rd<\/sup>. Student\/teachers dedication service will also be held on September 3<sup>rd<\/sup>. Students are encouraged to bring Vijayathina Sthothram offertory for the service and teachers are encouraged to submit their signed covenant forms prior to the service<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"background-color: #eae7e7;\">Yuvajana Sakhyam<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Parish Kalamela<\/strong> scheduled for today has been postponed. Further details will be provided soon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mid-West Regional Yuvajana Sakhyam Conference and Kalamela-2023<\/strong> will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church in Chicago, IL.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Encouraging and requesting all Yuvajana Sakhyam members and families to participate in the Parish Kalamela, regional conference and regional level Kalamela<\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"background-color: #eae7e7;\">Edavaka Mission<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li>Edavaka Mission is supporting multiple charity causes and is requesting financial support from members. The following are the charity causes:\n<ul>\n<li>Udumalpet Mission: School and Food Kits<\/li>\n<li>Punalur Boys Home<\/li>\n<li>Medical treatment for wife of Evg. P. Ratheesh (Habel) who is working in Narasapuram Mission Field in Andra Pradesh<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Details of each charity request are posted in the notice board. All contributions should be made to the Detroit Mar Thoma Church with details of the desired charity. Thank you in advance for your support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"background-color: #eae7e7;\">2023 Diocesan Family Retreat<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Diocese of NAE is arranging a Family Retreat<\/strong> from October 6th\u20138th, 2023. The theme for the retreat will be: \u201cAbundant Life: Rediscovering God\u2019s Purpose\u201d and will take place at the Carmel Mar Thoma Center in Atlanta, Georgia (6015 Old Stone Mountain Road, Stone Mountain, GA 30087). Distinguished speakers including Rt. Rev. Dr. Isaac Mar Philoxenos Diocesan Bishop, Rev. Dr. Victor Aloyo (Columbia Theological Seminary), Rev. Dr. Pramod Zachariah, Mrs. Susan Thomas, Dr. Cini Abraham, and Mrs. Roshin Abraham (Kochamma) will provide leadership throughout the retreat. Only 90 families have contributed this year and therefore the refreshment committee is finding it difficult to make necessary arrangements every week. This is a kind reminder to all parish families to give their contributions as soon as possible. The minimum contribution amount is $75, suggested amount is $100 or more due to the increased cost of items.
