Funeral service details will be provided later. All prayer group members are requested to attend.<\/li>\n<li>A combined prayer meeting of <strong>All Prayer Groups <\/strong>will be held on Sunday, October 23rd, at 5:30 pm at the church hosted by Mr. &amp; Mrs. Saju &amp; Jessy Philip. All members are kindly requested to attend<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"background-color: #eae7e7;\">Sunday School<\/span><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sunday School Christmas Carol Program<\/strong> practices will start today Sunday, October 16th after the refreshments in the church. There will also be 2 practice sessions next weekend:\n<p>&#8211; <strong>Saturday, October 22nd at 10 am<\/strong> at the church<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <strong>Sunday, October 23rd after service<\/strong> at the church<\/p>\n<p>We encourage all Sunday School students to come and participate!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"background-color: #eae7e7;\">Senior Fellowship<\/span><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Next meeting<\/strong> of the Senior Fellowship will be held this Saturday, October 22, at 3:00pm at the Church. All seniors are requested to attend<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"background-color: #eae7e7;\">Yuvajana Sakhyam<\/span><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam Diocese of North America and Europe<\/strong> is organizing an <strong>Essay competition<\/strong> on the topic \u201c\u0d2f\u0d41\u0d35\u0d1c\u0d28\u0d19\u0d4d\u0d19\u0d7e \u0d35\u0d3f\u0d36\u0d4d\u0d35\u0d3e\u0d38\u0d24\u0d4d\u0d24\u0d3f\u0d28\u0d4d\u0d31\u0d46 \u0d2a\u0d3f\u0d28\u0d4d\u0d24\u0d41\u0d1f\u0d7c\u0d1a\u0d4d\u0d1a\u0d15\u0d4d\u0d15\u0d3e\u0d7c (Youths inheritors of faith)\u201d. The competition will be in both Malayalam and English. The first prize will be a 150-dollar cash prize each in Malayalam and English. Requesting participation from all Sakha members&#8217;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Essay competition criteria are as follows:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Participants must be registered MTYS members of our Diocese.<\/li>\n<li>Essay should be legible and be based on Christian values.<\/li>\n<li>Essay should not be more than 500 words.<\/li>\n<li>The decision of the Diocesan YS council will be final.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam Diocese of North America and Europe<\/strong> is organizing a <strong>Liturgical Musical Fest<\/strong> on Sunday, October 23<sup>rd<\/sup>, at 8 pm. The theme for the event \u201cKolo d Shmayo: Voice of Heaven\u201d. Diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Issac Mar Philoxenos Episcopa will inaugurate the musical fest. The event will be shown live on ABBA News and live streaming through DSMC. All parish members are welcome to join.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"background-color: #eae7e7;\">Vaccine Clinic: Flu Vaccine\u00a0and Covid Booster<\/span><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li>Detroit Mar Thoma Church is partnering with Rite Aid for a vaccine clinic at the church today October 16<sup>th<\/sup> after the service. Both Flu shot and Covid Booster shot will be available. All those who have signed up are requested to head to the fellowship hall stage to check-in. Walk-ins are being accepted today at the stage as well.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"background-color: #eae7e7;\">Parish Convention &amp; Family Sunday<\/span><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Our Parish Convention-2022<\/strong> will be held from Friday October 28<sup>th<\/sup> to Sunday October 30<sup>th<\/sup> at the Church. Theme for the convention is \u201cFamily that has to be built upon Christ\u201d based on Ephesians 3:14-19. <strong>Rev. Manu Varghese,<\/strong> Vicar of Seattle Mar Thoma Church will be the speaker. Achen will be with us in-person for the convention. Convention will start at 7:00 PM on Friday October 28<sup>th<\/sup>, 6:30 pm on Saturday, October 29<sup>th<\/sup>, and conclude on Sunday, Oct.30<sup>th<\/sup>, after the worship service.\n<p>It has been 3 years since we have had a convention speaker join us in-person therefore all parish members are encouraged to attend the convention at the church. If any parish members require transportation to the church for convention, please contact area prayer group leaders or the Secretary, transportation arrangements will be made accordingly.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Family Dedication and Tithe Sunday<\/strong> will also be celebrated on Sunday Oct. 30<sup>th<\/sup>, the last day of the convention. All families are requested to participate and sit together for the worship service. Members may still contribute through PayPal without being charged a fee using the PayPal Giving Fund of Detroit Mar Thoma Church. Contributions through Venmo are not affected currently.
