Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday October 12th, 2022. Dr. Theodosius Mar Thoma Metropolitan today, October 9<sup>th<\/sup>, 2022 at 4:30 PM at the Long Island Mar Thoma Church (Merrick, New York). Live-streaming of this public meeting will be made available. Requesting all teachers to attend this meeting.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sunday School Christmas Carol Program<\/strong> practices will start next weekend with 2 sessions: Saturday, October 15th at 10 am at the church and Sunday, October 16th after the service at the church. We encourage all Sunday School students to come and participate!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"background-color: #eae7e7;\">Edavaka Mission<\/span><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Monthly meeting<\/strong> of the Edavaka Mission will be held this Saturday October 15<sup>th<\/sup> at 6:00 PM via Zoom.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"background-color: #eae7e7;\">Yuvajana Sakhyam<\/span><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam Diocese of North America and Europe<\/strong> is organizing an <strong>Essay competition<\/strong> on the topic \u201c\u0d2f\u0d41\u0d35\u0d1c\u0d28\u0d19\u0d4d\u0d19\u0d7e \u0d35\u0d3f\u0d36\u0d4d\u0d35\u0d3e\u0d38\u0d24\u0d4d\u0d24\u0d3f\u0d28\u0d4d\u0d31\u0d46 \u0d2a\u0d3f\u0d28\u0d4d\u0d24\u0d41\u0d1f\u0d7c\u0d1a\u0d4d\u0d1a\u0d15\u0d4d\u0d15\u0d3e\u0d7c (Youths inheritors of faith)\u201d. The competition will be in both Malayalam and English. The first prize will be a 150-dollar cash prize each in Malayalam and English. The theme for the event \u201cKolo d Shmayo: Voice of Heaven\u201d. Diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Issac Mar Philoxenos Episcopa will inaugurate the musical fest. The event will be shown live on ABBA News and live streaming through DSMC. All parish members are welcome to join.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"background-color: #eae7e7;\">Vaccine Clinic: Flu Vaccine\u00a0and Covid Booster<\/span><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li>Detroit Mar Thoma Church is partnering with Rite Aid for a vaccine clinic at the church next Sunday October 16<sup>th<\/sup> after the service. Both Flu shot and Covid Booster shot will be available. A google sign-up sheet is included in the weekly announcements, all those interested are requested to sign up. Baby Judah and mother are doing well.<\/li>\n<li>Mr &amp; Mrs. Stanley and Blessy Samuel were blessed with a baby girl, Michaela Molly Samuel, on Oct 4<sup>th<\/sup>, 2022. Baby Michaela and mother are doing well.\n<p>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Congratulations to the families.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"background-color: #eae7e7;\">Note on PayPal Contributions<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li>On July 29<sup>th<\/sup>, 2022, PayPal updated its policies and now charges a fee for contributions to the church PayPal account submitted from a personal PayPal account. Members may still contribute through PayPal without being charged a fee using the PayPal Giving Fund of Detroit Mar Thoma Church. Contributions through Venmo are not affected currently.
