Cherian (87), brother-in-law of our member Mrs. Saramma Varghese on Wednesday, September 21st in Ernakulam.<\/li>\n<li>Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the sad demise of Mr. Oommen Kunjappy (97), father of our member Mr. K.K. George on Monday September 19th in Ernakulam. Dr. Theodosius Mar Thoma Metropolitan will celebrate the Holy Qurbana in along with the First Communicant Dedication Service) &#8211; <strong>PLEASE NOTE THE TIME CHANGE<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><mark>8:45 AM<\/mark><\/strong> &#8211; Sunday School (There will be <strong>Sunday School and Youth common session with the Metropolitan at 8:45<\/strong> am next Sunday, Oct 2nd. Requesting all parents of Sunday school children and youths to arrive by 8:30 am at church so that the session may start on time.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>We strongly encourage all members to follow COVID prevention measures when coming to the church:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Mask use is optional but encouraged<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>If you are Covid positive or have known exposure and experiencing symptoms, you are requested to stay home. You may return to church activities after 5 days of isolating<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Thank you for your understanding and cooperation<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"background-color: #eae7e7;\">Online Weekly Prayers<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Intercessory Prayer<\/strong> on Wednesday at 7 PM (via Zoom)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fasting prayer<\/strong> this Friday at 10:30 AM (via Zoom)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"background-color: #eae7e7;\">First Communicants<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li>First Communicants and parents of First Communicants are requested to stay back in the sanctuary for a short meeting with Jose Achen<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"background-color: #eae7e7;\">Metropolitan Visit<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li>As mentioned our Metropolitan will be visiting our parish next Sunday, October 2<sup>nd<\/sup>. After the worship service a felicitation meeting is planned and will include honoring of our senior members 80 years and above. Lunch will be arranged after the felicitation meeting.\u00a0 Based on the parish registrar a total of 24 members are age 80 years and above A list of the members will be sent in the announcements this week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"background-color: #eae7e7;\">Youth Group<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li>There will be an informational meeting for youths and parents of youths today September 25th after the service to review plans for the upcoming year and to answer questions regarding youth group. Requesting youths and parents to attend the meeting. Any youths 13 years or older and are interested in joining the youth group are requested to contact Youth Group Secretary Christina Cherian at 734-890-4223<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"background-color: #eae7e7;\">Vaccine Clinic: Flu Vaccine\u00a0and Covid Booster<\/span><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li>Detroit Mar Thoma Church is partnering with Rite Aid for a vaccine clinic at the church on Sunday October 16<sup>th<\/sup> after the service. Both Flu shot and Covid Booster shot will be available. A google sign up sheet will be included in the weekly announcements, all those interested are requested to sign up. Members may still contribute through Paypal without being charged a fee using the Paypal Giving Fund of Detroit Mar Thoma Church. Contributions through Venmo are not affected currently.
