{"id":2860,"date":"2019-10-05T09:33:01","date_gmt":"2019-10-05T13:33:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/detroitmarthoma.org\/main\/?p=2860"},"modified":"2019-10-05T09:33:01","modified_gmt":"2019-10-05T13:33:01","slug":"pink-sheep","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/detroitmarthoma.org\/main\/2019\/10\/05\/pink-sheep\/","title":{"rendered":"Pink Sheep"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><strong>John 10:7-18<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><strong><em>John 13:35 &#8211; By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n<div>While traveling on a road from Glasgow to Edinburgh, Scotland, I was enjoying the beautiful, pastoral countryside when a rather humorous sight captured my attention. There, on a small hilltop, was a rather large flock of pink sheep.<\/div>\n<div>I know that sheep owners mark their animals with dots of spray paint to identify them\u2014but these sheep really stood out. The owner had fully covered every animal with pink coloring. Everyone knew who those sheep belonged to.<\/div>\n<div>Scripture calls followers of Christ sheep, and they too have a unique identifying mark. What is the \u201cpink coloring\u201d in a Christ-follower\u2019s life? How can someone be identified as Jesus\u2019 own?<\/div>\n<div>In the gospel of John, Jesus, the Good Shepherd, told us what that identifier is: love. \u201cLove one another; as I have loved you . . . . By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another\u201d (John 13:34-35).<\/div>\n<div>In words and deeds, a believer should show love to all those around. \u201cBeloved,\u201d John writes, \u201cif God so loved us, we also ought to love one another\u201d (1\u00a0John 4:11). A Christian\u2019s love for others should be as obvious as pink wool on a flock of Scottish sheep.<\/div>\n<div><strong>PRAYER<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><strong><em>Dear Lord, remind me that this life is not about me<br \/>\nand my needs, but about others and how Your love<br \/>\ncan shine through me to them.
