(Mark 10:22)<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>A hero to a generation of people who grew up after World War\u00a0II, Corrie ten\u00a0Boom left a legacy of godliness and wisdom. A victim of the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands, she survived to tell her story of faith and dependence on God during horrendous suffering.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cI have held many things in my hands,\u201d Corrie once said, \u201cand I have lost them all; but whatever I have placed in God\u2019s hands, that, I still possess.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Corrie was well acquainted with loss. She lost family, possessions, and years of her life to hateful people. Yet she learned to concentrate on what could be gained spiritually and emotionally by putting everything in the hands of her heavenly Father.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>What does that mean to us? What should we place in God\u2019s hands for safekeeping? According to the story of the rich young man in Mark 10,\u00a0<em>everything<\/em>. He held abundance in his hands, but when Jesus asked him to give it up, he refused. He kept his possessions and he failed to follow Jesus\u2014and as a result he \u201cwent away sorrowful\u201d (v.22).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Like Corrie ten\u00a0Boom, we can find hope by putting everything in God\u2019s hands and then trusting Him for the outcome.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><em><strong>PRAYER<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<em><strong>Dear Lord I surrender myself and my life to You.Amen.<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><em><strong>THOUGHT FOR THE DAY<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<em><strong>No life is more secure than a life surrendered to God.<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><em><strong>Christian Education Forum, Diocese of NAE of the Mar Thoma Church<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mark\u00a010:17-22 [He] went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.
