Jobin Jose, and guided by Psalm 95:1\u20132, the Detroit Mar Thoma Church Choir continues its vital role in enriching worship through music and congregational praise. Under the leadership of Mr. Sherin Kuruvilla, Mrs. Sheena Joseph, Mr. Joseph Mathews, Mr. Benjamin Mathews, and Mrs. Alina Philip, the choir ministry comprises two choirs \u2014 the Malayalam Choir and the English Choir, each with 35 members \u2014 that support the spiritual growth and fellowship of the congregation through praise and worship.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Both choirs lead Holy Communion worship in their respective services, supported by full musical accompaniment that lifts congregational worship into rich harmony. The Malayalam Choir keeps alive the time-honored Mar Thoma hymns sung in the mother tongue, bringing the congregation the familiar melodies and worship that have been passed down through generations. The English Choir, made up largely of younger members, brings devotion and energy to worship and helps the second and third generations connect deeply in the language closest to them, with many of its members also forming the heart of the parish&#8217;s praise and worship team on fifth Sundays.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Both choirs faithfully lead music for Sunday services, Passion Week, Parish Convention, Church Retreat, weddings, prayer meetings, and funeral services. The choir members also learn and present new Maramon Convention songs, sharing them with the congregation during parish retreats, conventions, and other special gatherings. Beyond regular worship, the ministry comes together for choir retreats that combine devotional reflection with vocal workshops, and the two choirs frequently join in combined presentations on special occasions \u2014 moments of shared worship that deepen fellowship and lift the congregation in praise.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>In 2026, the choirs have already led music for the New Year service and the Easter services. Looking ahead, both choirs are prayerfully and eagerly preparing to participate in the 29th Mar Thoma Choir Fest on July 25, 2026. The ministry is also planning a Choir Retreat later in the year and will once again lead the congregation in worship through the Christmas Carol Service, joining together in fellowship and praise through music.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The Choir Ministry remains grateful for God&#8217;s faithfulness and extends sincere appreciation to the clergy, choir leaders, instrumentalists, technical volunteers, and the congregation for their continued support, encouragement, and prayers.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Choir Under the spiritual leadership of our vicar, Rev.
