Condolences

  • Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the sad demise of Mrs. Betsy Joy, 47 years old, elder sister of our member Mrs. Bahitha Uthup on Friday, January 3rd at 3:20 am in Kottayam, Kerala. Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 6th. May the Almighty Lord strengthen and comfort the family with peace that passeth all human understanding. Let’s all please stand for a moment of silence and prayer.

Worship Services

  • Next Sunday: January 12th
    • Holy Qurbana service in English at 10:15 am
    • Sunday School at 9 AM
    • Adult Bible Study at 9:30 AM

Weekly Prayers

  • Intercessory prayer on Wednesday at 6:30 pm at the Church
  • Fasting prayer on Friday at 10:30 am at the Church.

Sunday School

  • Sunday School teacher’s meeting will be held on January 5th today after the worship service. Office bearers for the year 2020 will be elected at this meeting.
  • Children who are planning to take the First Holy Communion in March, 2020 will be having their first preparatory class with Achen on January 11th, coming Saturday from 3 pm to 5 pm at the church.

Yuvajana Sakhyam

  • Yuvajana Sakhyam monthly meeting will be held on January 11th, Saturday at 5:00 pm at the Church. This meeting will be hosted by Mr. Wilson & Suby Jacob.
  • Last date for Yuvajana Sakhyam Membership Registration 2020 is January 11th. All YS members and interested members are requested to register with YS treasurer/secretary.

Sevika Sanghom

  • Monthly meeting will be held on January 12th, Sunday after the worship service.

Edavaka Mission

  • Edavaka Mission monthly meeting will be held on January 18th, Saturday at 5:30 pm at the Church.

Global Mar Thoma Meet and the 33rd Diocesan Family Conference

  • The Global Mar Thoma Meet and the 33rd Diocesan Family Conference of the Diocese of North America and Europe is scheduled to be held from July 2nd – 5th, 2020 at the Carmel Mar Thoma Center, Atlanta. The Theme of the Conference is “Living in Christ, Leaping in Faith” based on John 15:7. The registration fee will be $ 100 USD and the conference fee will be $100 USD per person till March 31, 2020 and from April 1, 2020 an additional $25.00 USD will be added for each person.

Annual Report – 2019

  • All parish organizations are requested to finalize and complete a brief summary of activities and submit the report by January 18th, Saturday to the Parish secretary.

Refreshments

  • Thanks to our Executive committee & Trustees for arranging today’s refreshments – Pizza.

Thanks to Varghese Thomas Achen for celebrating today’s holy Qurbana and for the message. Thanks to P. Chacko Achen, Lay leaders and Malayalam choir for assisting in today’s service.
