Condolences

  • Detroit Mar Thoma Church expresses our deepest condolence at the sad demise of our senior member Mr. O. C. Koshy (91 years) on September 3rd early morning. The funeral service was held on Friday, September 6th at the Detroit Mar Thoma Church. May the Almighty Lord strengthen and comfort the family with peace that passeth all human understanding. Let’s all please stand for a moment of silence and prayer.

Youth Group

  • Youth Group will be starting its Fall Semester on September 14th, Saturday at 1:30 pm at the church with a game followed by a trip to the Franklin Cider Mill. All youths 13 years and older are invited to come and join this youth group event.

Yuvajana Sakhyam and Youth Group Onam Sadhya

  • Yuvajana Sakhyam and Youth Group have decided to celebrate combined Onam Sadhya on September 21st, Saturday from 12pm to 3pm at the Church. They are planning to conduct it as a potluck. Please contact Yuvajana Sakhyam/Youth group for more details and potluck signup sheet.
  • Yuvajana Sakhyam meeting will be held after the Onam sadhya from 3 pm to 5 pm.

Edavaka Mission

  • Edavaka Mission monthly meeting will be held on September 21st, Saturday at 5:30 pm at the Church

Auction

  • Auction of First fruits and other items will be held on September 8th, today after the worship service. We request all to participate in auction so that it will be a great success. All proceeds will be going towards expansion fund.

Diocesan Directory

  • Pre-order of the Diocesan Directory will start today in the fellowship hall. Members can purchase the Diocesan Directory for $10/copy for their personal use. Please contact Mr. C. V. Samuel for more details.
  • English order of Worship for Divine service, Holy Qurbana and other sacraments book is available for sale. Please contact our trustee Mr. George Koshy for copies, $11 per copy.

St. John’s Mar Thoma Congregation’s convention

  • St. John’s Mar Thoma Congregation’s convention will be held on September 14th and 15th at 6 pm -8 pm at 2601 E Square Lake Road, Troy. Mr. Abraham Joseph will be the convention speaker.

  • Thanks to Mr. Alex & Sara Therakathu for sponsoring today’s refreshments- Chapati & Chicken Curry.
