Condolence

  • Detroit Mar Thoma church express our deepest condolence at the sad demise of Mr. V. I. Varghese (80 years old, Varapadathu House, Niranam) father of Mrs. Daizen Chacko on November 17th in Kerala. The funeral service will be held on November 20th, Tuesday in Niranam. May the Almighty Lord strengthen and comfort the family with peace that passeth all human understanding. Let’s all please stand for a moment of prayer.

General Body Notice

  • The General body meeting of the Detroit Mar Thoma church will be held on Sunday, November 25th, 2018 in the church sanctuary after the Holy Communion Service presided by the President and Vicar, Rev. Jogy Oommen Philip. All General Body members are requested to attend this meeting.

       The agenda is follows:

  1. Election of the office bearers, Prayer groups & Church organization representatives, Auditors and Refreshment Committee for the year 2019.
  2. Presentation of the multipurpose building and parking lot site plan for approval.
  3. Proposal for a new Mar Thoma congregation.
  4. Proposal to give permission to the current executive committee to decide the venue and date for Picnic and Retreat for the following years.
  5. AOB with prior written permission.

Sevika Sangham

  • Sevika Sangham meeting will be held on November 18th, today after the worship service at the church. Office bearers for the year 2019 will be elected at this meeting.

Choir

  • DMTC choir general body meeting will be held on November 18th, today after the worship service at the church. Office bearers for the year 2019 will be elected at this meeting.

Senior Fellowship

  • Senior Fellowship meeting will be held on November 24th, Saturday at 3.00 pm at the Church. Office bearers for the year 2019 will be elected at this meeting.

Youth Group

  • Thanksgiving potluck will be held on November 23rd, Friday at 6 pm at the church.

Regional Youth Conference 2018

  • Midwest Regional Youth Conference-2018 hosted by the St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church’s Youth Group will be held from December 27th, Thursday to December 30th, Sunday at the Michindoh Conference Center. The main speaker is Dr. Shaun Rajan and the theme for the conference is “IDENTITY” based on 2Corinthians 5:17. The registration cost is $140 and additional $10 for T-shirts. The early registration deadline is November 30th, Friday. We encourage all youths ages 13 and older to attend Regional Conference for a time of growing in your faith and enjoying fellowship with brothers and sisters in Christ. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact Tenny Samuel, Tommy Samuel, Maya Abraham or Ashwin Thomas.

Sunday School

  • SS will be starting Christmas Carol Service practice today after service and there will be practices every Sunday after service. All SS Children are requested to be present for all the practices.

  • West Side:   
    • Dec 2nd Sunday – Lansing, Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti, South Lyon
    • Dec 8th Saturday – Prayer Group 2
    • Dec 9th Sunday – Prayer Group 4
    • Dec 15th Saturday – Prayer Group 1 & few houses of prayer group 2.
  • East Side:
    • Dec 8th Saturday – Prayer Groups 5 & 6 members- North of 17 Mile.
    • Dec 9th Sunday – Prayer Group 5 members in Utica, Macomb & Shelby Townships.
    • Dec 15th Saturday – Prayer Group 3 members in Troy
    • Dec 16th Sunday – Prayer Groups 6 & 7 members- South of 17 Mile.

Those who are willing to host the starting and ending of Carol rounding for each of the above days, please contact your Prayer group Leader.

Christmas carol rounding practice will be held after the refreshment in the fellowship hall.
